Oh and it's basically a metal thing that looks like a cig. You charge the part that looks like a filter, insert a nicotine cartridge and inhale as you would a regular cigarette. It creates a vapor that delivers nicotine but it is a water vapor.

Basically it lets you have the motions of smoking, the nicotine, but none of the extra **** in cigarettes.

How much does it cost?

ASIAN JUL 08-08-2009 01:32 AM

erm, the starter pack was $99. Err. I ****ed up though. The part that looks like the white part of a cig is the battery, you get two of those. The cartridges are the part that look like the filters.

Starter pack comes with two batteries, a 5 pack of cartridges (each cartridge is supposed to last the equivalent of a pack of cigarettes), the charger and what not. Oh and the 5 pack of cartridges = $5. So you're spending $5 to smoke 5 packs of cigarettes basically. It def made quitting so much easier.

Oh and you can smoke them indoors since they don't count as a tobacco product

99SL2_Modder 08-08-2009 01:36 AM

Hrm. I take it I can't just use yours and buy the refills, eh?

ASIAN JUL 08-08-2009 01:43 AM

I'd give it to you but about a week after I weened myself off of it, it fell out of the truck at some point (I had it in the little slot in the door)

99SL2_Modder 08-08-2009 01:47 AM

Dammit.

I was { } this close to pseudo-kissing Jul!

But no, I just don't have the extra money to spend on that damn thing. Well, I do, but at the same time, I don't. Dammit.

the hadji guy at oxford valley mall has a stand and sells those e-cigs, i didnt actually think it would work, seems like its one of those as soon on tv scams. i just heard a thing on the radio that they are illegal? im assuming something with the fda.

congrats on quitting btw.

my dad quit smoking, his reason was because he was going on a hunting trip in colorado, now he goes on physically demanding trips every year so he has a reason to not smoke. he used chantix, i know atleast 3 other people who used it also and quit. apparently it gives you extrememly bizarre dreams though.

Banning all flavored cigarettes and cigars because their marketing targets underage teens.

Not like that should really matter because stores should be ****ing carding anyway. The FDA is full of retards.

i think its a good idea honestly, i used to try smoking when i was 14 because of flavored tobacco products, especially those ****ty cigars.

carding doesnt matter, theres always someone else to buy them for you.

Still, menthol is a flavor. They won't ban that because it's "natural".

Guess what, dumb ****s in the FDA. Clove is a natural flavor too!

Cloves are ****ing awesome lol. I quit cold turkey in Feb after smoking a pack a day for 18 months. It was my 3rd time quittin cold turkey though, so it obviously didnt work the first 2 times. I think its only a matter of time (aka when I get a job and get money) before I start up again, cause everytime I'm around cigs I crave one.

den9 08-08-2009 03:08 AM

this guy at work used to smoke cloves because he thought they were safer, i think he said he quit smoking but smoked cloves, everytime he would come out of his office to smoke in the shop i could smell that **** from a mile away, those things are absolutely disgusting. if they banned menthols black people will riot.

There's no proof that they're better, but there's also no proof that they're worse.

They taste great though.

Honduh 08-08-2009 09:13 AM

I don't understand why it's so hard to quit.

I smoked for 4 or 5 years and at my peak I was smoking a pack a day. One night at a party I ended up smoking like 2 packs in the same night, the next day my throat felt like complete ****. I ended up quitting cold turkey. 2 years later I'm like 95% smoke free from cigarettes. I will admit I may have a smoke on the weekend at a party, but thats about it. I don't smoke at all during the week and I have no cravings at all until I get a few drinks in me.

ASIAN JUL 08-08-2009 10:22 AM

Well, Honduh, I know some people that have quit cold turkey and others that have tried quitting 4 and 5 times in a year but can't do it.

I heard once that people who associate smoking with certain things have a harder time quitting. Like if you HAVE to smoke everytime you eat, when you wake up, before you go to sleep, when you're driving.

bastid 08-08-2009 10:30 AM

I smoked for the better part of 8 years. I'll still light up occasionally now. Every time that I quit, it takes a good 4-5 days of willpower to not feel like I need one out of habit (after I have a hearty meal, while drinking, etc). Now that I purchased my first house, I wont' be smoking anymore.

PS - Haven't read through the entire thread yet... but anyone out there trying to quit should try Chantix, too. It's fairly expensive (few hundred bucks through 2 different kits). But after a week on that stuff you light up and it tastes like complete ass.

sherwood 08-08-2009 10:39 AM

ive been off em for about a year now.....ask pearl i just quit cold turkey because he kept telling me i smelled like ****.

i dont really understand the connection between smoking and drinking. i hear it from everyone.

i know you drink and relax, and smoke cigs and relax, but is it necessary?

Is it necessary to drink and relax?

Smoking and drinking are 2 things that are close. You can replace one word in another and have essentially the same sentence.

I went out for a drink with my friends.
I went out for a smoke with my friends.

Honestly, neither is necessary. We do it because we have a choice. When the choice comes to dropping it, it's a little more difficult if you do it all the time or have a set routine.
