i looked at it but i couldnt see for ****. it was dark as hell outside. what did you have to do to the tb to get it to calm back down?

turbo4g63 10-08-2007 09:18 AM

there is an adjustment screw on the cable....i think its right around 6" from the the TB

97TurboDSM 10-08-2007 09:22 AM

alright. im gonna have to go look at it when my bed gets here, i just hope my car didnt get towed from the spot i pushed it to. i left a not but parking enforcement here sucks donkey dick

turbo4g63 10-08-2007 01:03 PM

i know how that goes...when i lived in WC i got a parking ticket for parking out front of my old apt. b/c i didn't have a pass.

97TurboDSM 10-08-2007 01:06 PM

yea its the most annoying **** ever...i still didnt get a chance to go down there. i've been waiting for 4 hours for my bed to get here. im frustrated right now

97TurboDSM 10-08-2007 03:08 PM

does anyone have a picture of said adjustment screw? i cannot find anything. also, the little black box that the throttle cable runs too/from, are the half wheels in there supposed to turn freely or stop after about a quarter turn? i have 24hrs to move the car and i dunno if its too low to get towed or not. :help:

turbo4g63 10-08-2007 03:49 PM

my bad...you can adjust it from the nut on the TB spring that holds the cable

97TurboDSM 10-08-2007 07:40 PM

so i jus went and checked it out. somewhere in the maze that is the throttle cable, its losing tension which is not allowing the cable to come fully taut and making it rev. im not sure exactly where this is happening or what happened to make it do that, seems like its caught somewhere or there is a kink in the line thats causing it but i need my car to be running by friday so this is kinda urgent. anyone that can come to west chester to help would be compensated. i still have to push it two blocks to my house before it gets towed tomorrow.

turbo4g63 10-08-2007 07:56 PM

97TurboDSM 10-09-2007 06:24 PM

okay so after some investigating, it seems as tho somehow the throttle cable has slack in it. the little black box to the left of the throttle body that has three different cables in it, all have slack in them. now, the cylindrical thing right next to the battery also has a cable going to it that controls the cables in that black box. when i press the cable in the cylinder inwards ( <---- ) it creates tension in the cables in the box. i also took the tb elbow off and it looks like the throttle plate may not be closing all the way but i couldnt tell because the lighting sucks behind my house. i know that was a bunch of rambling with no specific parts names but thats all i got. if anyone has absolutely any clue how to restore tension to the throttle cables, im sure my problem will be fixed. another note, when i got under the dash and looked at the gas pedal, the cable and ball that the pedal controls was sticking out about 2.5 inches or so and not bringing the pedal back to zero, so to say. if this makes sense to anyone, please help. im stuck on what to do.

turbo4g63 10-09-2007 06:33 PM

pm paledsm he'll tell you what to do. i have no clue. You could even just give JNZ a call. They are all good guys, always willing to help

97TurboDSM 10-09-2007 06:36 PM

thanks man. it seems so simple yet i dunno how the hell to fix it.

97TurboDSM 10-17-2007 11:25 AM

okay, so i fixed one problem but another one has come to my attention. i fixed the cable that controls the throttle plate so thats not open anymore. but my gas pedal and the cable that runs from the engine bay to the pedal is stuck on something and wont let me use the gas pedal. when i try to push the gas pedal down, it goes as far as the cable will let it and then just stops and wont go any further. i cant figure out where that cable goes to or how to get it un-stuck. so if anyone can shed any light on the situation i'd be greatly appreciated. i need to be able to drive my car. thanks guys

97TurboDSM 10-17-2007 05:13 PM

ok i give up. if anyone wants to help me get the car towed to a shop, please let me know. im too frustrated

turbo4g63 10-17-2007 05:17 PM
