Damn, good, cause all i saw was that they were $3000ish new and $700 something for the install kit. Well 2500 is better than the 4000 i was thinking i'd have to spend

You can see if you take the valve cover off on the car but once you get it I can get you in touch with this guy Bill. It will be a little bit of a drive for you and the waiting list is 3 months for his once over but it's definately worth it. You would also have to be a paid up member of s2ki but it's only 20 bucks.

Once over:

Custom Valve adjustment, retainer inspection, & spark plug torque check
Air filter
cabin filter
oil change Mobil1 & PCX filter, or ck oil and fliter torque
dif fluid change with Mobil1 75W90
trans fluid change with NEW Honda MTF
clutch fluid change
brake fluid change
spark plug replacement (Honda S2000 spec'd NGK's, not the ones you buy online)
clutch adj
throttle adj
inspect serp belt
air psi
Coolant flush
axle nut tsb
topdown mod
AC mod (02-07)
check brakes
general check-up

Priced individually, only services needed are done.

So you can't know by driving it. Basically, i won't know until after I buy it lol.

That sounds... expensive lol. Can you tell them to pass on doing certain things? Liek some of the more basic **** that would just add to the price when I could easily do it or have someone I know do it for probably 10x cheaper? I definitely would want some of the more major checks and adjustments done, they'd be worth the money to know everything's up to date and working well... i'd just cut out the unnecessary ones.

You will miss the turbo I am very sure of it. IMHO I would fix up the GS-T, sell it, and get a 1G lol. So much easier to work on, cheaper, and you probably have half the parts for spares anyway.

Pete does, he put the 14b on when my turbo blew, but somewhere in the process it got an oil leak somewhere, and he's not fixing that.

The rest is just stupid little ****.. exhaust leak, blown strut, something clunks when i go over speed bumps.. not sure what that is, wiring on 1 of the gauges is messed up, pass. side door can't be unlocked from the outside, and somethin's upwith the ebrake. The real problem is the gst. It either needs a headgasket or a waterpump. And body/interior-wise..you name it, and it probably needs to be fixed or replaced lol, but i'm slowly workin on that, it had a huge leak and the car kept filling up with water, but i finally fixed that the other day. Thats 1 down, 8326 problems to go:wiggle:

teh DIRT 08-14-2007 06:39 PM

throwing me to the dogs? ouch.

her oil pressure sending unit might be cracked...or its the oil filter housing...they are weak as hell and i overtorqued it a tad. Other than that, the talon is in good shape from what I can tell. Sure little things like bolts backing out and what not. But those are miniscule things that can be fixed with washers and whatnot. The red car on the other hand.....thats another story. BTW, dont get a 1g...you wont look as good in it.

Yes, pretty much you won't know about the retainers until you buy it or if the you know somebody mechanically inclined and the seller was willing to let you take apart some stuff from the engine lol. But in a nutshell yes, but don't worry they are pretty cheap to replace if you catch it on time.

I wouldn't know about 10x cheaper since he is like 10x cheaper than the dealership, there is a reason why his waiting list is so long because he is AWESOME and what he does and pretty cheap. Also the test drive he gives you afterwards is amazing, he's one of the best drifters around, not many people can keep up with him on the Dragon. But, yes, you can taylor the once over to your specifications. :)

idk I was under there fixing the downpipe the other day and it looks like most of the oil is leaking out of the supply line coming from the turbo. And yes im throwing to the dogs, its messed up :(

lol well either way i gotta get it done. Im hardcore saving money now... im not even gonna buy new fall clothes :( lolol, so when it comes time to buy the car, im just going to put like a grand aside for maintenance/replacement work.

So, for like a rough estimate type deal, how much would all that run if I needed everything? Just so I have an idea

I will talk to Bill and then pm you the price when he gets back to me :)

Oh and you know you have enough fall clothes already :-p

*edit*
I just want you to know it may take a couple of days for him to get back to me. Just fyi so you don't think I forgot.

Forgive me if I have missed it, or am way out of line here, but have you thought about a Miata. Easy to maintain, easy to find with low miles, fun to drive around the corners, and with the money you would save not buying a Miata over a S2k you can get a hardtop and have money left over to get some sort of turbo/supercharger setup which are relatively cheap.

Again, my apologies if I am way off topic.

cranshinibon 08-15-2007 01:04 PM

meh miata compared to an s2k is so different. miatas are decent looking and decently quick cars whereas an s2k is a hott car that's VERY fast. plus i don't think she'll accept anything except turbo since both of her dsms are quick lol

Neh, I don't liek miatas. Maybe for someone else but not me. When I think about an s2000, and then about a miata, i dont even think they're on the same type of level. And when I see a miata driving down the road, i dont think twice, but when I see a s2000 it grabs my attention. And miatas are slow without a turbo or sc or 5.0 swap, and im not turbo/sc-ing an n/a car, least not right away :).. i'm not gonna lie, if I fell into some money down the road the s2000 WILL be gettin a turbo lol. Plus i'm kinda partial to Honda and mitsu's. It'd probably take a lot to get me to buy something else (in this price range).

Thanks for the suggestion though, if I wasnt so picky a miata would have been a good alternative

meh.. miatas are slow and s2000s are fairly quick, i would never go as far to say that theyre "VERY fast." And s2000s arent turbo, and im accepting those..? lol

slowevo9 08-15-2007 01:46 PM

i told you i would sell you the evo so i can buy my z06. perfect solution.

teh DIRT 08-15-2007 02:17 PM

it looks like the supply line because that line sits under the oil pressure sending unit. Unless you are talking about where it connects to the turbo...if its leaking there than thats new because it wasnt before.

MissDSM 08-15-2007 02:20 PM

No im not talking about where it connects to the turbo. So I guess your right, which means you can show me how to fix it bc im clueless, and my oil is now coating practically the whole driveway :(

teh DIRT 08-15-2007 02:21 PM

well find some time..im busy from 7am till 2pm everyday. And a trip to DE during rush hour isn't my idea of time well spent.
