Hopefully, he'll have it then. Needs to brake it in for a customer before doing work to it so he thought it be fun to bring it by the meet. Its even my fav color: Cyber Gray:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...3/zr1-6001.jpg

There also supercharging the guys brand new Camaro SS. Wants it to the worlds fastest Camaro. Should be sick too.

Vinny 09-14-2009 04:24 PM

wow, dudes got money...lol, I love the cyber gray color as well. Can't wait! Maybe I'll bring the camera out..

bl@ckvr4 09-14-2009 04:28 PM

Hoping for a good turnout. I wonder if all the other message boards know about the new spot.

Vinny 09-14-2009 04:32 PM

I'm more curious as to how fast it will fill up.

Yeah, it must be nice to shell at close to $200k (paid close to $160k for the Vette) on cars and then send them both immediately to be modded to go even faster.

Yeah I considered an SS Camaro in Cyber Grey until I realized you can't touch one for less than $5k over MSRP. So I bought a C5 Z. Its blue and I will most likely drive it to the meet if he brings the ZR1. So feel free to swing by and say hi. Your pics of cars at the meet are awesome so it'd be cool to get a nice one of the ZR1.

Vinny 09-14-2009 04:41 PM

haha, much appreciated. what time do you think you'll be arriving to the meet? I hope before sundown.

Whens sundown nowadays? The earliest he would get there would be like 7. I'll talk to him and find out and try to remember to post here tomorrow. I know they need to get some miles on the odometer soon to start working on it and I'm sure he is frothing at the mouth to take it home. Obviouslty it'll be weather dependent.

ZR1 or not, I find that to be an absurdly high price to pay for a Vette that is supposed to be around $100k MSRP, IIRC.

Vinny 09-14-2009 04:56 PM

you know...you make a valid point...I think sundown nowadays is like 7:30-8. Doing a shoot before the meet is fine by me as well. Go somewhere nicer than just a parking lot.

Plastik Racer 09-14-2009 04:57 PM

wow 200k for a vette humm I don't know.. so many other cars out there for that price. Well I guess if your a loyalist then it can't be helped

The industrial area in hanesport sometimes has nice spots on the railroad tracks.

Vinny 09-14-2009 05:00 PM

I wouldn't dare put a zr1 near railroad tracks. lol

Valid point. If you wanted to be more cost effective you could get a Z06 or GS and have an aftermarket charger put in. But I don;t think somone paying $160k for a car needs to be too budget conscious.

There are people out there that want to (and have the means to) be the first one their block to get a ZR1, GT-R, Ford GT, (insert your favorite limited production car) etc. What he paid is about the norm. I was at Kerbeck when someone picked up one for $155k. I have a family member who works at a Ford dealer - they sold two Ford GTs for $250k. when they first came out. They MSRPed around $120k. Law of supply and demand.

I guess at least with the ZR1, even paying the premium, you are still getting a car capable of running against more expensive cars. ANd still get a 6 yr/100k factory warrantly. That is if GM is still around.....

I talk to him and find out. Thanks for the offer.

bl@ckvr4 09-14-2009 05:14 PM

150k sounds about right to me. Dealer markup's a bitch.

Plastik Racer 09-14-2009 05:20 PM

sometimes you gotta cut out the middle man and go straight to the factory. A friend of mine did that with his tiburon and he saved thousands compared to the dealers.

Yeah it is. I looked around at new Camaro SSs. Didn't see one for less than $5k over MSRP. Matter of fact just passed a dealer last night that has had the same silver V-6 Camaro (at $5k over) sitting on his lost since May.

Or buy used and also cash in on the initail depreciation drop.

Plastik Racer 09-14-2009 05:25 PM

haha it'll be hard to find nice cars used as the economy is making people keep there cars that they would upgrade every year.

Very ture indeed. Clash 4 Clunkers didn't help either. Saw videos of plenty of nice used cars get destroyed. Even saw one Vette....ouch..... ...that I would have happily bought as a track rat.

Plastik Racer 09-14-2009 05:37 PM

I saw a cyclone and typhoon. I think that one of the cyclone forums pitched in money and saved it from being crushed.
