i was joking, sadly.

my "wood shop" is still a messy garage w/o any 220 lines required for 2/3 of the power tools i have. looking to get it cleaned out within the next month or so and run some electric. have a line now, but not nearly enough juice.

so, unfortunately, i'm not in the position to buy wood :( not for a few months

No prob., I've been dieing to put this stuff to use, it's gray out but can be cleaned up into a nice modern-industrial style coffee table / console table / etc.. There's at least 5000 linear feet of it so let me know for dirt cheap, that and a 40k SF warehouse of premium grade (all tropical hardwoods mainly for decks but can be dried if needed).

(sorry for soliciting, just excited someone else wants to build furniture!)

You got a job working at a bacon factory?

HickRocket1258 04-25-2012 08:29 AM

Grimm my issue is I'm not even looking to spend that close at all for a grill. I was thinking along the $300 or less range.

Thanks Jay. I was looking at the Charbroil brand at Home Depot.

russiankid 04-25-2012 08:52 AM

On a good note I have 3 days of classes left and 2 finals. Going home for 3 months on Tuesday. One more year of school after this!

understood, i never thought i would even think about spending that much on a grill, but i use mine so often, and have had to buy replacements or replacement parts so frequently i think it would save me money in the long run.

Charbroil has been my brand of choice for the cheaper grills. Mine is going on 5 years now, the body has held up well, but the handle is getting weak. I've replaced the burner covers and the grill grate probably 4 times now, my ignitor still works on a single push, and my burners are still working even with having the rusted burner covers collapse on them every year. The problem with most of the grills out now is they are made of cheap sheet metal not a cast body (the clam shell part). I would try to find one that has a cast body like this.

Broil Mate

Brinkman 4 burner

I was also looking at this one if you want something massive

Brinkman Elite

jpalamar 04-25-2012 09:30 AM

My old Charbroil wasn't bad, but like you said, there as tons of little things every year that needed fixed. My handle also broke... I ended up fixing it with epoxy. I also only got 2 years out of my burners... but for the average person thats probally like 5 or so.

ALso will never use the cast grates again. SS from now on.

russiankid 04-25-2012 10:04 AM

I have a Brinkmen 5 burner plus one side burner for the past 6 years or so. Solid grill, only now the burner covers started to collapse. The grates and ererything else are holding up very well.

Zaior 04-25-2012 10:08 AM

Now I am a total noob with grilles and all, but yesterday I watch million dollar homes and someone had a 147k grille and it was like the size of a school bus lol

Big_Jim 04-25-2012 10:10 AM

Zaior 04-25-2012 10:11 AM

my brewstand design thus far. 1.5" Steel Square Tube. I would love to go 1 but not sure it would hold the weight.

They are kid safe. Even mine I can turn my pass side airbag off with my key and there is a latch system.

I'm sure the C6 is the same or maybe better yet has weight sensors in the seats to do it for him.

i went full retard, not hipster. ;) it's not really working well... i cropped the entire car in, but that is what i got. don't really care for it.

becky said a friend of her's who had a c5 had a car seat that is specifically for the vette and it disables the air bag. so he's got a better chance of sitting in this than the mustang, which was too loud. until i get exhaust done...

Big_Jim 04-25-2012 11:07 AM

You can have a tot in the front seat of this thing? I never knew that.

HickRocket1258 04-25-2012 11:10 AM

Wow what's with everyone going with a Vette anymore?

I have a Corsa full catback with X pipe on mine. I never really knew how good they were until now. There is ZERO drone and it is almost silent while just cruising(its nice to be able to have the windows down while on the highway and still be able to have a conversation without screaming)... but opens up alot when getting on the throttle above 2000RPM. If you want to check it out some time let me know.

I think it will still be very doable after long tubes as well without being overky loud.

Yea, Most newer 2 seater cars are child safe.
