BTW, riding a horse is completely different than riding a carousel.... Depending on what style (english/western)... Western is more comfortable because it's more relaxed and not as 'proper'.. loose legged, not as fancy, 'cowboy' style.. but you do have a huge horn in the front of the saddle. And I imagine for a dude that could hurt..

English (what I used to do) is more like 'fancy' and more restrictive..
No one probably cares but I used to compete in 'eventing' which is a 3 part competition
Stadium jumping.. which is a course of jumps in an area

Cross country, which stretches over like miles and miles of jumps (which is the picture I posted of myself up there)
and dressage, which is like patterns of different gaits and it's mostly about control and perfection..fancy schmancy and I hated it!

Cross country was my favorite because it was fun, exciting, and it was timed so there was pressure but it was so much better than the other 2 parts of the competitions.. But.. Of course..there are dangers to doing cross country...

It's considered oneo f the most dangerous sports because you essentially can not control a horse 100%. I've witnessed several people die, be paralyzed..saw a few get literally crushed by their horses. But it is an adrenaline rush!
