im not worried. would big caliber sniper rifles be banned?

dragonfly2k3 05-02-2009 04:51 PM

the ban, just like last time would probably be imposed on high capicity. Previously anything over 10rds capacity was banned. Now, i could go out and just buy a 13rd magazine, seeing that im pretty set on the glock 23, but what if the new ban imposes the limit at 5rds? What if glock decided it was easier to just scrap the production, rather than produce 5rd magazines?
If someone has a weapon for which no 5rd magazine exists post ban, would they be allows to transfer it?

well, some may not see this as a big deal, but its my dads 10 gauge, its built for strictly turkey hunting, non-removeable chock ( cant think of name ), it kicks bad, heavy gun, and it has a red dot, seen my dad kill 2 turkeys with 1 shot at 65 yards with it. You cant even fit a dime down the barrel

hold it tight and the recoil just absorbs into your body, not a sharp pain at all

just picked up a 16 gauge ithaca model 37 with a polychoke with no deep rust for 200 bucks. its hard to find one in good condition for under 300-400 bucks, the stock has a little crack in it though. it was made in 1948.

hollow tips all day!

den9 05-10-2009 09:04 PM

hollow tips? are those legal in nj?

are you allowed to have a loaded weapon in your house? someone told me it has to be locked up at all times except if you are bringing it out to the range, and that you have to go straight to the range and not make any stops.

tri856 05-10-2009 09:17 PM

well it stays locked up in the safe and im not sure about the hollow tips since my cousins bought me some in ohio(you can buy bullets like buying candy at the store over there)for my bday. and as long as you have a permit your all good.

i agree, but i think it was the other guy saying his gun stays locked up and unloaded... pretty sure Den9 was just asking about NJ's terrible gun laws.

Right about now your probably out of luck unless you find a gun store that just happens to have them.

blkZ06 05-12-2009 04:02 PM

Probably going to have to order it online, I just got 1000rds of 9mm/.40 hydrashock off of gunbroker. Look around you can track it down.

Who has what for a daily carry and what is your rig/placement? Im a bigger guy so with my frame my Glock 23 hides pretty well but my shirt bunches up on the grip sometimes, I need a good IWB rig what do you guys use?

4DR_DB7 05-12-2009 04:08 PM

ignorance/disrespect removed...

blkz06's next two posts were in response to what I just removed but I wanted to explain that here so it doesnt seem confusing to anyone.
