try to get it socketed for dsmlink. Screw tuning it with an safc, thats what i have...and i've regreted buying it since day one. You will only see minimal gains with an afc.

97TurboDSM 10-04-2007 04:33 PM

i have an afc already that came with the car. i just want something basic that will get the car running closer to the way it should...i'll be looking into dsmlink soon just not right at the moment.

Yea I suggest getting it socketed though so you can just get the DSMlink down the road and have everything go time.

yea i gotta see what its gonna cost for all that. school is eating up my money like whoa

turbo4g63 10-05-2007 10:30 AM

97TurboDSM 10-05-2007 10:44 AM

my cel has come on twice in the past 3 months, and it turned itself off both times

turbo4g63 10-05-2007 01:22 PM

i just read your spotted post...the reason why your head unit is staying on is b/c it is connected to the battery. it shouldn't be like that. find a switched power wire to tie that into...ie your ignition...tap into the fuse box

97TurboDSM 10-05-2007 01:37 PM

the only thing i did was disconnect the wires that were connected before. and now i forget how they go back together lol

That ECU must be closely related to the one in my Evo , 'cause I had a CEL for 3 days and it went off by itself. Probably just something stupid (besides the 3 fried drivers...).

97TurboDSM 10-05-2007 03:25 PM

our ecu's are a disfunctional family

05suby 10-05-2007 04:11 PM

so im pretty much more pissed at a car than ive ever been. im on my way back to school from my house, i get two blocks from my place in west chester, turn the corner and my gas pedal gets stuck and wont move and the rpm's shoot way way up and dont come down. pull over, turn the car off for a second. turn it back on, no difference, pedal still wont move. i dunno what the hell happened but i had to push it into a parking lot im not allowed to park in and i dunno what the hell is going on but i cant use my gas pedal. car officially down.

Did you get out and inspect the throttle body?

See if the throttle plate was open from tension on the cable?

Sometimes they twist in their groove.

yeah....the same thing happened to me once, except i was heading into traffic down on 100 and it only went to 3k rpms. i just popped the hood and the throttle cable was a little bit too tight.
