When I have time I'll go back through this thread and read up too. Seems like alot of you guys know your stuff about weapons.

Starting off the only part I knew was "Don't ever point the gun at anyone....ever" common sense. ha. Believe me after shooting the other day it was real eye opener. Safety is key, couldn't agree more.

O yah. Guns are alot louder in person. Stupid movies.

Dude I work with knew a guy who was a retired cop and ex military, took him 6 months to get his LTCF. I heard the unrestricted LTCF are only issued to people who are in security, retired police officers, retired federal officers.... When you go to buy a gun I'm pretty sure you have to get approved for a FPIC and a pistol permit first and only have like 90 days to purchase a firearm before it expires.

I haven't turned in my paperwork yet... need to find a time, cause of course their office is only open when I'm working, lol

~Brian~ 04-14-2010 01:33 PM

I think I've finally settled on a IWB holster..

What do you guys think of this one? Its kinda pricy ($69), but it looks pretty solid and they will mold it to my gun..

it took me 2 months to arrange a time where i could go up to reading to the berks county sheriff's office. then i found out that they do 'remote' LTCF days. turns out they were doing one at a police station 2 minutes from my house. lol

That's no excuse. The office opens at 8 and you go to work at 10. And it's on the way. Lazy.

Doesn't matter. When you renew it in 5 years, you change your address then.

Xavier 04-14-2010 09:30 PM

Wait, wait, wait.... $46? Might want to check this out.

You have to get the Federal Firearms ID card before you can get a permit to purchase a handgun. Unless you are military/law enforcement or retired military/law enforcement, you cannot carry in NJ. Stupid NJ. I am seriously considering moving to PA just for all the cool stuff...

Lol um, thanks for reiterating everything I already said? Assuming that you meant a Firearms Purchaser ID Card...

Not feeling it for the style of clip it uses. Might as well save a bunch of money and just pick up an Uncle Mikes.

Well I think what I will do is just tuck the whole thing in and just hook the clip over the belt instead of doing that under/thing setup..

2 reasons. They don't know any better and they don't feel like taking the time and effort to write a letter to get thier $20 back.

:bigeek: No matter how you put it down your pants (insert dirty joke here) that clip isn't really going to hold it securely as you move around. I'd look into a CompTac Minotaur. It's only going to run you about another $15-20 depending on shipping over what you listed. If you still want something in that style save yourself the money and go pick up an Uncle Mikes for $15 at most gun shops/online.

I have an Uncle Mikes for my Glock and it can't hold a torch to my CompTac that I use for my Kimber UCII.

That CompTac looks great but I think its a little too big for me.

I forgot to mention that I haven't actually paid for the holster I ordered yet. The company who makes them is custom fitting one for my gun now and will let me try it out for a little while to see if I like it. If I like the holster, I will pay them. If not, all I have to do is send it back.

Comptac MTAC FTMFW. I have one of those for my P2000. Awesome holster. I also recommend Milt Spark Versa Max II but those are $110 and about a 7 month wait to get one.

I'm trying to find somebody, but the three people who have actually answered their phone want between $60 and $80. I refuse to pay that much for such a simple task.

Does anybody on here know how to mount sights or have a sight pusher that I can borrow for about 10 minutes?
