Not sure about that. It may have to be a limited edition car for that to work out, not just a limited color. For example, the Nismo Z is numbered and you can get collector plates for it. My car is still limited edition but there is no number stamp on or in the car, so it doesn't qualify. Not sure if this is the same.

I'm not sure what the guidelines are really. But I did talk to my insurance agent when my red car was hit, and it was a possibility but would have taken longer and things got worked out anyway.
