I'll check to make sure my Remote isnt pinched somewhere. The battery in my car is in the trunk, so the wire is run through the rear firewall. I'll double check that stuff.

Amps are pretty basic, it could only be a couple things keeping it from coming on. Since you tried jumping the remote wire from the 12v and it still didnt come on, it has to be that the amp is not seeing 12v power or its still a bad ground some how.

motorvated 12-30-2008 10:15 PM

Yea they are simple, I dont know what the issue is. I dont want to keep splicing into wires in my harness to test the REM.

revhi 12-30-2008 10:17 PM

By jumping the 12v from battery to the remote, you insured the amp was getting 12v remote turn on, so it is not your remote wire that is the issue.

motorvated 12-30-2008 10:19 PM

Maybe you misunderstood... the amp didnt do ANYTHING when I jumped it.

revhi 12-30-2008 10:25 PM

Right, by doing that your amp did not turn on. If it was a bad remote wire from your radio, the amp would have turned on. It means your 12v from battery is not getting 12v to your amp, or your ground is bad.

motorvated 12-30-2008 10:27 PM

OO wow..cool. That works the opposite way I thought it would work. I thought if it was wired right, it would have turned on. Running out to check my fuses..AGAIN

motorvated 12-30-2008 10:29 PM

ugh...someone shoot me. Fuse from battery to amp is blown. NO idea how. Brand new install kit. 50A fuse. how the fck does that blow

revhi 12-30-2008 10:32 PM

Did you hook the power up first before you grounded the amp?

motorvated 12-30-2008 10:33 PM

noooo. poweris always the last thing to hook up. So tomorrow..i go buy a 50A fuse. things HUGE

revhi 12-30-2008 10:36 PM

Glad you figured out the problem. :)

motorvated 12-30-2008 10:37 PM

me too..now we can watch everyone be REALLY mad about us talking for two pages about my amp lol. Sorry guys :) But on the good side, how was the meet?

red24O 12-31-2008 12:09 AM

It was fun I did not hang around for long tho

njsharkracer 12-31-2008 12:36 AM

RC car races were great, especially when they crashed and flipped over each other. Too bad Jay couldn't get his started later in the night.
