My main handgun is a CZ 75 P-01. I love the gun, but it could use a little better sights. Probably wouldn't have been my first choice, it's a littel smaller than I would like, but my ex was supposed to shoot it, so it had to be smaller. Were I to buy a CZ now, I would get the SP-01. It's a little bigger than mine, and would fit better.
I have had ZERO problems with mine thus far. Probably have 1500 rounds through it. I fired a nice Kimber .45 this weekend, but I didn't like the grips, they had a really pointy section at the bottom, where the loop attaches, and it kept digging into my palm. Better grips and it would be a nice firing gun. Low recoil for a .45.

Take a look at the Smith and Wesson M&P line, nicely ergonomic and nice shooters as well.

1988 Olds 01-19-2010 02:07 PM

Yea S&W M&P line has some good guns. I kind of wish I would have went with some of them but I kind of like the black and stainless look of mine.

Sig Sauer makes a good gun also though they do run a bit high in price. I have a Sig P229 in .357sig and is by far my favorite pistol round. I also have a Glock 27 which was my first pistol and still my carry pistol to this day. So I support your Glock decision as well.

motorvated 01-19-2010 04:48 PM

Yea ide really be looking to spend...$500 or close to it.

why can't you? permits are available.. i believe it's just a longer wait than PA, they are more strict.

OutToWinPAHC 01-20-2010 11:57 AM

Jersey hasn't given a carry permit to a non law enforcement / job required officer in over 15 years. However you can try to get a federal permit, just cot a whole hell of a lot of time.

A nice set of rubber grips and I would love the Kimbers though.

they claim they are available but they never actually give them out. the requirements are ridiculous. the only way you might be able to get one if your not in law enforcement is if you make HUGE cash deposits on a daily basis in a ****ty area or if you have previously been assaulted/mugged/robbed and the courts and doctors have deemed it appropriate for your safety.

exactly. i didnt know about the federal permit though

blkZ06 01-21-2010 11:36 AM

there's no such thing as a federal permit

if you want to carry a gun your only options are to become a cop or move

doug 01-21-2010 12:53 PM

wow.. i didnt realize it was that hard in NJ, unreal.

Looks like fun. I want to get an AR at some point. I shot a Colt 9mm SMG today at Targetmaster and it was an awesome gun.

motorvated 02-08-2010 10:43 AM

Im really into WW2 guns.. m1 garrand,m14..that kind of stuff. I think next gun show, im going to pick up a nice M1 garrand..and maybe a WW2 sniper model.

11secdsm 02-12-2010 11:58 AM

Just picked up a Glock 23 w/ LaserMax internal laser sight for shop duty. :)

Red94Celica 02-12-2010 12:39 PM

Nice looking gun, I'm sure the price tag was steep too. Why so many clips though?

11secdsm 02-12-2010 12:42 PM

I bought the entire setup from a customer of mine who's an avid collector. The deal was actually a barter for services at my shop (partial payment on his part). Why so many magazines? You can never have too many. :) Plus he gave them to me for free as part of the deal. Couldn't refuse.

Red94Celica 02-12-2010 01:02 PM

Just wondering haha. The built in laser is awesome, I just bought my first gun last week, a smith and wesson 9mm. Talked the guy down to $350 for it brand new, they wanted $390. It came with two magazines.

Red94 Celica - I have the same gun but I have the bi-tone model. I like the gun a lot except for the heavy trigger pull which S&W will fix for free if you like. Overall its not a bad gun for the price. I'm not sure where you went but Tanner's had it for 349.99 when I got mine. If you have any ?s feel free to PM me. I have prob about 1000-1200 rnds though mine with no problems at all

I'm glad to hear that you have that many rounds through it and no problems. I've yet to get to shoot mine, not a member at any gun clubs yet...even though theres one 1/2 mile from my house. What do you mean by the heavy trigger pull? I bought mine from a local gun barn about 15 minutes from my house.

Most guns have a 5-7 lbs trigger pull. This is how hard it is to pull the trigger. I believe on our guns its right around 10-11lbs. This is because there is no safety and S&W does not want anyone blowing thier foor off. I've read on a couple forums that S&W will lower the pull to about 5-6lbs for free if you send your gun in. Since I carry mine a lot I have not sent it in. No matter how light the trigger the gun will not fire unless you pull the trigger of course. I'm not sure how close you are to Bensalem, PA but I have a membership to Pistol People on State road if you ever wanted to go there.

Its a little over an hour to bensalem from my place, I was actually down there like 3 weeks ago to pick up parts for my jeep. I'm ok with the trigger being at 10-11lbs because I'll be carrying. Probably rarely though.

1988 Olds 02-12-2010 05:31 PM

Yeah in all honestly any glock has no external safety and a 6-7lb pull and they seem to be alright. Once you go to the range a few times you'll know what I mean. Just make sure you take care of it and you shouldn't have any problems with it. Only thing I don't like about the gun is there are not many acessories for it

It was my first gun purchase, and only really intend to target shoot with it. Carry on ocassion, and hope to god i never need it if I would be carrying. Bullets seem fairly cheap for the 9s, a box of 50 for 11.00

I'll just leave these here. My carry pieces. HK P2000 9mm in a Comptac MTAC holster and a Kimber Warrior in a Milt Sparks Versa Max II.

DC2.2GSR 02-14-2010 12:22 AM

i just picked up a brand new Smith and Wesson M&P40C today.. put 100 rounds through it within an hour of signing the papers. i absolutely LOVE that gun. the trigger is super smooth and has a real crisp break. the trigger safety doesn't make it feel 'squishy' like i thought it would. i'd post up pics but it's nothing fancy, just a brand new gun lol. the crossbreed supertuck holster is on the way, can't wait!

WKderF 02-14-2010 02:04 AM

just thought id posit up here, but my friend and I are planning to head to classic pistol tomorrow to celebrate our anti-valentines day.

anyone else wanna join us?
