He knew if the RX-7 was seriously damaged, the insurance company would pay the book value. So boohoo for him. If he didnt know that, then he should go buy a Toyota Corolla. Its an old RX-7 and theres not alot of them, whoopity-f'in-do. Doing some overtime at his fast food job will get him a new one. |

believe me, i was in an accident in my SRT back in june. was i pissed? yea, i was ****in pissed. but you know what, flipping out on the kid who caused it would have gotten me nowhere. i restrained myself when he came over to me and said "dude, i love SRTs". if i flipped out, i probably would have gotten locked up. maybe its because i think about things before i do them, but that guy had no right to start screaming at the other guy. they're called accidents for a reason. maybe he wasnt paying attention, but **** happens. get over it. |

So if someone rear ends me Im gonna do the exact same thing as this guy and act like a complete douche about it. |

LoL.. Oh ok. It is just a car and he can get another one, but it will be hard to find one in good condition that isn't beat. Good luck to the guy if he plans on rebuilding or getting another. |

Hmm, could be anywhere from 8,000 to 20,000. I think on average for a decent paint low mileage motor with good interior around 15,000. It really depends on the car. |

Im suprised by alot of the response's in this thread, Its not hard to belive that people fall in love with there cars and i guarantee alot of us are in love with are vehicles, thats why we spend so much money on getting them, and even more money on mods. Yes that rx-7 is rare exspecially in the condition it was in before the crash, obviously the guy took care of it, and who knows he might only bring it out on weekends. I do not blame him for getting mad, im sure alot of us would of if we were in that position. Exspecially since the guy was doing nothing wrong and was at a complete stop in traffic. It is also obvious that the kid who hit him was speeding and was not paying attention.
It was good tho that the guy restrained him self and did not hit or go after the kid. |

blue steel, ferrari, la tigra? they're the same face! hasnt anyone notice this?! i feel like im taking crazy pills! |
I feel for the guy, and he should definatly do everything in his power to replace that car! But the reality is that he is screwed. I wish that upon nobody here. But I would personally rather see my car totalled than see someone become crippled because they broadsided me. The car can be replaced.
|
We havent confirmed the year of the car. Yes 800 is lower then 8000. Im not retarded. But like I tried to say. At this point there is less the 2000 of my car left in the country due to theft and accidents. If I were to get rear ended tomorrow I wouldn't cry like that guy did because of it being a rare car. He took the risk and loss. Life goes on.
|
i cant believe 12 cars were stolen...I didnt hear anything about that until now. I didnt really even see any cops there either, except ones directing traffic. Im glad i parked in the pits.

No one is debating the rareness of the car. Thats just a matter of a 300 million population and prolly less then 400 of these cars still on the road. Buuuuuuuut, based on the current price, its obvious the demand is low. Take the original MSRP for the car, add in inflation and the current price is no where near the original price. If demand was as high as people say it is, the current price would be much MUCH higher. And 600hp going for $50k, which I think is retarded, could apply to many other cars. |
