i would do it. its actually about even as far as money goes IMO. say he owes $5k on the civic, plus $10k for the S2K. whats an S2k with a R title worth? $13-$15k give or take? if he traded the civic to a dealer they would give him $2k for it (i know, cuz i did).i say do it. its a much better platform for autox as he says he wants to get started. im really not seeing the downside to this. winters arent that bad around here if you think about it. the roads are usually clear the next day so i dont get why you guys are telling him that its so bad.

Ha i can't believe i wasted 10 minutes on a perfectly nice sunday afternoon reading 3 pages of this thread. Personally, i love s2000s ever since i rode in hopper's like three years ago but i wouldn't put myself into that much debt for a car...especially being like 18 or 19 years old.

And how was it? I just cant see it being alot of fun. Light weight RWD + Snow/Ice doesnt equal a good time for me. I can see the "Took the S2K out in the snow, where to get a ebay front end?" thread now from him.

It was exactly what I took it out for, fun lol. I wouldn't do it for practicality. rwd has nothing to do with it, I drive my M3 as a daily in the winter during blizzards and everything, I think M3_John does too. It's all about the driver. Europeans drive a lot of rwd cars during their winters which are a lot harsher than ours.

To add to MPowerKai' comment. I drove my 240 in the snow various times to go snowplowing (my boss would not let me take a truck home lol).

Im only adding the RWD part because that what it is. Im not trying to argue that driving a RWD car in the snow is bad. Ive done it without a complaint. Im talking in the fact that its a lightweight roadster that happens to be rwd in the hands of a inexperienced driver.

You're comparing an econo-box's 5speed fwd transmission to a roadster/sports car's longitudinal close 6speed with lsd.

You've got to be kidding if you think this kid pull a "duck to water".

Have you guys checked out his journal? Now he wants to stop modding his civic and buy a house. This kid is a tool who just wants attention from people on this board. If it wasn't for the fact that 04 Turbo Spec actually did work for him, I would of thought he was nothing more then a trolling 12 year old. But hey, it provides some good laughs at his expense.

Yea, that part is true. If you read my earlier post it said Could I drive it in the snow? Yes. Could you (you be Cleanneon)? No. lol

Yea man, houses are for big boys who have a rather large downpayment and make more than 10 dollars an hour.

I owe NO money on my civic, and trade-in value is 4500 for it. I have to wait for my bro to get back from vacation, but for the time being im gona drive the car around more and see how I like it, and try to find out wtf is wrong with the title.

so, you think you could walk into a dealer with your civic to trade and they're gonna come out to you and give you 4500? you have no idea how dealerships work. i ended up with 5k for my 01 civic (after hours of fighting), completely stock with less miles than yours. and this was 2 years ago.
anyway, back on topic. if the car is paid for, why is this even a question? i know if it were me he wouldnt have even been able to get the sentence out of his mouth before i said yes. just do it. change your screen name to cleans2k98 and start over fresh.
