Awesome updates!!!...im still no too fond of the hood but the workmanship is great. I have a walbro inline pump on my datsun and it is really loud (hate it), i'm not sure if its suppose to be like that or not. Let me know how yours works out.

If not maybe an aeromotive will do.

ill keep you posted, im hoping i wont hear it over the engine

i dont like the hood that much either anymore. china land has started producing knock off aluminum intakes for the LS engines, so if i can ever track down a stock hood ill do that. But i think the paint job i have planned will make the scoop fit a bit.

hey look a completed fuel system. -6 hose, walbro 255 pump, stock corvette filter/regulator combo. short return line. Followed the old fuel line path fit everything the best i could, still need to finish up some little junk, but it should work. Pump will support 500hp which is plenty. may try to fire this thing up tomorrow before i leave for school on sunday, yay :-p

well, matt and I tried like hell yesterday. fuel pump runs and everything else was ready to go. but for whatever reason the ecu strobes and wont stay powered on or connect to a standard scan tool. Matt took the ecu with him and tells me it wont connect to his laptop on his flashing harness. Was a sigh of relief for sure, hopefully ill have a new ecu soon and this clunker should fire right up! Then itll just be a matter of running trans cooler lines, welding up the floors and finishing up all the little stuff.

but for now

fellow sloppy mechanics member found me an ecu and drove from trenton to check the car out and deliver the ecu! awesome guy. matt came over, turned off Vats and she fired right up!

heres a short video matt did while he was here
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8dcI...ature=youtu.be

after he left, i half assed a throttle cable, filled the trans partially and drove up the street and back, maybe a 1/4 mile, WAH FREAKING WHOOOOO.

going to try and get coolant and hose clamps so i can fill the radiator up and drive it a little further!

Nice! Saw that video as soon as he uploaded it earlier when I coincidentally logged in right as he was uploading apparently.

blue91lx 01-18-2015 08:31 PM

Dude that's sick!!!! Gotta feel great for it to move under it's own power.

you have no idea haha! it was 500000 billion tons of bricks off my back. My family has been hating hardcore about how i could have just bought a car by now, but they just don't get it.

was able to do a little work today, moved one of the o2 sensors so the wire wasn't so stretched, cut and rotated the thermostat housing, and changed the inlet diameter of the radiator so i could use one hose. Slowly but surely plugging away.

empera 01-19-2015 02:39 PM

rocknrace03 01-19-2015 03:01 PM

btw your neighbors must love that "exhaust"

rocknrace03 01-19-2015 05:43 PM

Lol, I used to drive 600cc micros with wide open headers, they're used to it and don't really care as long as it's not early/late or 24/7. That being said, I do need to quiet the car down before I daily it lol

Shipman 01-19-2015 05:45 PM

Much fun
