When the mag is empty it goes in normal. Is this because its new and the mag spring is still stiff or should i bring it to a smith and have them look at it? Thanks.

^This. I have a few friends who hunt, so I can see if they get a kill soon if they will keep the heart.

That's normal. All M&Ps do it, some other types of guns too. It does have to do with the mag spring but from my experience it doesn't go away. It's just something that happens.

update "Deer Heart" project was cancelled

Haha yea, especially taken out of context that comment could turn bad. They always keep the deer to eat though. That should appease them at least a little bit....maybe

I am assuming this is with an empty chamber? Mag springs do break in as well.

yea chamber is empty when inserting the magazine and this happens. I believe i tried it with one in the chamber at one point and it still did it.

Ok as long as its not something i need to worry about. I did get a response from a couple guys on a s&w forum who said it happens and it will get a little better as the spring breaks in. So fingers crossed for that.

My m&p .40 broke right in, now it's the same if I have a full mag or it's empty. It'll get better

My glocks also need an extra push with a loaded mag vs empty one. If the slide is locked open this goes away.

2g Talon 01-29-2014 02:11 AM

Same with both of my glocks when i had them. Should settle in if you give em some time :)

Thanks for the response guys. Yea, it's not an issue if the slide is locked open. So I will just give it time, let the springs settle and keep my fingers crossed it doesn't happen if I ever need to quick load one haha.

HatchSurfer3 01-29-2014 03:28 PM

Also, does anyone need/want .40 ammo? Found a guy who will sell me some bulk ammo for a good price. I don't have a need for it all so if anyone would be interested in some let me know and I'll see what kind of deal I can get worked out. He has 1k rounds of cleanfire target ammo and 2k rounds of federal hollow points (1k hydra shock, 1k premium expanding fmj hp's as he referred to them).

2g Talon 01-29-2014 08:23 PM

What is he looking to get for it joey? Gonna be grabbing an m&p 40 for a duty weapon once my 235 comes back. Could use the ammo if the price is right.

Can police choose their duty weapons or do they have to go with the department issue?

Here for my monthly TST scan and thought Id share the latest purchase.

Was in a local shop and stumbled on this gem. It's numbers matching, nazi proofed, two mags, original holster, excellent bore, half-cock, stainless FLGR, mag safety, and no import marks. Shop owner says it was sold to him by the daughter of a vet, mags still loaded with .32acp. Serial number 666xx

From gunbroker:

Seller's Description:
This is a rare Unique Kriegsmodell that was manufactured for the German military during the WWII Nazi occupation of France. The Kriegsmodell is chambered for the 7,65mm (.32 ACP). This pistol is original and has no import marks. The frame, slide and barrel all have the matching production number. The right rear tang is Nazi Army accepted with the Eagle/WaAD20 stamp. There were only about 18,000 made under German occupation. The condition is good with some holster wear and some very light corrosion here and there (more like surface staining). The front and rear grip straps are browning. There is some minor surface rust in a few isolated spots but there is no real pitting. The original grips are marked "7.65mm 9 Schuss" meaning .32 ACP and 9 Shots . They are excellent having no cracks or chips. The gun appears to be in excellent mechanical condition, we have not tested it. The bore is excellent and the magazine is original.

I paid under 2 bills for it and online they seem to be going for around $700+ nazi marked in worse shape minus the extra mag and holster. I'm excited to say the least.

HatchSurfer3 02-05-2014 01:01 PM

That's a pretty awesome pickup. You going to keep it or sell it off for a profit?

Drftpretty 02-05-2014 01:06 PM

^I asked the wife what I should do with it and she replied "Thats an heirloom piece" which is shocking because shes afraid of guns, and nazis, but recognizes badass when she sees it lol.

HatchSurfer3 02-05-2014 03:53 PM

Haha she's a keeper and so is the gun. I agree with her. We found of bunch of nazi stuff in my grandmoms attic when we cleaned it out from my great grandfather/great uncles. I believe there were a couple guns, but unfortunately, I couldn't get my hands on any of them. There were flags, medals and a helmet too I think.
