USP .40 for $450, I can't comment on the condition, but it's worth checking out....

http://www.pafoa.org/forum/firearms-...-usp-40-a.html

Also, it's a full size, not sure if you were committed to a compact or not.

Ideas for a snub nose 357 carry revolver anyone?

So far I like the no safety Smiths with the concealed hammer and heavy trigger pull.

Thanks, Ashley

FN SCAR-L, 16s (16" barrel), will be here late December, early January. More picture to come when I get the damn thing!

How much did that puppy set you back, I've got my eye on the stag model 5, basically a 6.8 ar15.

I love all my stags, great AR's. I have pretty much all 5.56 rifles though with plenty of ammo and mags, can't see mixing.

The SCAR-L is right around $2500, but if you want one, order it now (it might even be too late). There are only a couple of dealers that seem to have gotten the allocation though, so you are going to have to shop around as I'm not ready to give up the dealer I got it (might want another). They are only expecting to have a limited run of roughly 200 for now.

figured this would be a good place to see if anyone has any personal experience with the Sig Sauer P250? Im planning on this gun as my next purchase but have yet found a range with one on demo yet to try out.

reviews of it are mostly positive, and i like the idea of the interchangeability of it.

whats your opinion?

den9 11-17-2008 02:28 PM

never shot that model but i can tell you sig sauers are one of the most reliable top of the line pistols you can buy, you cant go wrong, the model i shot had a nice balance to it, kinda heavy though. this model looks sick with a threaded barrel http://www.sigsauer.com/Products/Sho...&productid=227

this one is cool, compact, and apparently you can swap barrels? the 357 sig round is pretty fun, but expensive http://www.sigsauer.com/Products/Sho...&productid=219

heres a video
http://www.sigsauer.com/Products/Sho...&productid=183

since you cant find a range that has one for rent id just go to a store and maybe check it out, see if its comfortable in your hand, i know its best to shoot it first but sometimes you cant, i can assure that you wont be dissapointed. what caliber are you looking at?

enigma 11-17-2008 11:05 PM

I know the scar-l was gonna be pretty expensive, as well as limited, i think i'll be fine for now with a future AR, my current M&P45 and possibly a rifle of some kind.

Ive been on sig's website practically every day since learning about this gun. I know the models & that video quite well. I plan on sticking to 9mm as thats what ive had in the past and I have been very happy with it. owning a glock 26, and having owned 2 glock 19s, 9mm just fits me very well. ive had it in my hands several times, and the feel / weight distribution is great. I would just like to fire it before i commit to it. but i have honestly never heard Sig horror stories about bad firing models, so I think ill be ok of i cant shoot one before hand.

ITSTOCK 11-18-2008 12:25 AM

I don't think that you are going to find many complaints about the p250.

I tried one at the range a couple months ago and couldn't get used to the trigger. Otherwise, really nice gun. Comfortable, smooth, manageable, accurate, etc. etc. Actually, it was REALLY comfortable.

were u not able to get used to the DAO? or simply the size / style / or weight of the trigger?

I have never had a DAO gun & while i dont think that would stop me from buying this gun - I have never owned a dual action before.

ITSTOCK 11-18-2008 08:48 AM

Yes, I am referring to the DOA (or dak, whatever they call it). It's like the LEM trigger for HK. It just doesn't feel right to me.

upperguy 11-18-2008 09:20 AM

Just curious, anyone from TST going to the Valley Forge gun show in Dec?

I have the DAK trigger on my p229r in 9mm and it definitely takes some time to get used to, one of those triggers that isn't for everyone. I can actually shoot tighter groups and have a faster follow up than with my xd40 which is da only (although the sig is obviously less "snappy" than the 40).

den9 11-18-2008 03:53 PM

so is a dao has a heavy trigger every shot, where a da/sa has a heavy trigger only the first shot if not cocked? ****s confusing

Yes.

DAO = double action only. Every trigger pull will cock the pistol and then release the hammer to fire it.

DA/SA is double action on the first trigger pull, and uses the cycling of the slide to cock the hammer, making the next trigger pull single action (only releases the hammer).

Make sense??
