Wish I would have known some of you guys were interested in the shield. A place I know had them on sale for 365 shipped for either 9mm or 40cal this past week. Went up too 400 now.

Shields are great carry weapons. Reliable, dependable, easy to use, leos love them, even off duty which speaks volumes.

Is it normal to want to do more? haha. if I can restrict myself to just uppers I think I will be ok for awhile....although we just found an SLR-106UR in the back we overlooked......damn damn damn, here we go again!!! LOL. |
Couldn't of ask for a better day to go shooting this past Saturday

I think I'm set for a while. I also have downstairs 4 tins of 7.62x54r and about 700 rounds of 7.62x39

With colder weather coming, Ive been looking into OWB holsters to carry my M&P, with that being said, i really like the Blackhawk! Serpa, but i am seeing mixed reviews about it online, along with ND stories blaming the holsters retention system. Anyone here with hands on experience? Love, Hate what ever

My owb is a raven concealment. Paddles just don't work for my bony hips and ass

I've been rocking a KT mech holster, it was cheap and it works. |

Raven are great holsters that place the gun tight to the body which makes it carry more like an IWB, unlike the Serpa which makes the gun fee like a brick flopping around on your belt. However, with Raven you pay a bit more because of the name than other kydex holster designers. Atomic Dog is a PA based company who make just about the the same design as Raven with the same level of quality. If you're considering the Serpa make sure you try out some Safariland OWB holsters as well. I can't remember the model that I had for my M&P9 Pro but it was basically a thumb-release version of the Serpa that held the gun more securely without the flopping around on the belt and feeling like a brick. It carries the gun tighter without being IWB-tight like the way the Raven or Atomic Dog are. After trying many it's the only active retention holster I'll ever buy again. |
Don't forget a good belt. Amazon has uncle mikes riggers belts for about $30

okay guys, my 21st has passed and I'm seriously considering the smith and wesson J frame revolvers in .38 special. affordable, reliable, easily concealed/carried. Is there anything else i should look into? I'm really only interested in revolvers (always sort of liked "retro" items) I know they can be a handful to learn on, but i don't see myself as guy owning multiple guns. Anyone here have one? Open minded to any advice you guys have since i do not come from a "gun" family

If you're open to suggestions, my favorite smith revolver I've ever owned was a 65 K frame with work done to it (barrel shortened and crowned, trigger job, action job, etc). A model 60 may be a good "middle of the road" between a 38 j frame and something like a 357 K frame; the 60 shoots both 357 and 38, no bobbed hammer (so can be fired single action [more fun for challenging target shooting], and is still small with a 2.x"-5" barrel. Some people have an issue with s&w because of an agreement they made with the Clinton administration in 2000, if you're hardcore (which I know you are), ruger and some of the Taurus revolvers are decent. Whatever smith you decide on get a "pre-lock" gun. It was a stupid "safety" feature incorporated in 2000 or 2001 that added a little keyhole to the action and SUCKS, plus there's been stories of the lock engaging while firing... Never happened to me but I can imagine if I were using the gun to decent myself and it locked on me I'd be pissed/screwed |
