Ya i know of him and quite a few others around the area, its just so many people are use to doing SW's, Glocks, SA's so they usually have the sight pushers for those models or univerals ones that fit well on all those platforms...

Ill have to call and see if anyone has any HK specific tools as im not going to let some smith take some punches to my HK, id rather

Steve, do you remember his name or happen to have his phone number? I need to talk to him today but I lost his card.

I'm happy this thread popped back up in my feed, so in stuck on what to buy. Moss. 500 or .22 ar 15, I like target shooting, I have no intent to ever hunt but I'm also keeping home defense in mind. Being that I'm 19 I can't buy a pistol or a pistol grip shotgun but am I allowed to modify the shotgun after its purchase legally?

CleanNeon98 08-22-2013 12:19 PM

So the last time I bought 9mm it was $200/1000rds
Now its like $300+/1000rds

This was a year ago. What the hell happened? Is the price going to level back down like everything else?

Also tried to sell my Remington 1911 Enhanced but shops don't want it, guess not enough demand. Shoots awesome, so I'll just keep it I suppose. Trying to find a WW2 1911 for investment.

Where have you been since December? lol. After the shooting everything went nucking futs. $3k for a factory plain-Jane DPMS stands out in my mind as one or the worst I've seen. Ammo is still rare to find, and when you do find it it's expensive as sh*t. I have a friend who is hoarding as much as he can possibly find just because ylou never know what's going to be available when you want it. I keep telling him he's a part of the problem but he says "it's every man for himself, gotta get it while you can." Although hoarding it what's driving prices up, he's right.

Check out slickguns.com Theirs a lot of good deals posted everyday. Just gotta buy when in stock.

Agree people got really stupid on buying. Everything semi auto went through the roof price wise. A lot of people made good amount of money.

Makes me consider getting a reloading setup. I don't shoot thousands of rounds a month, but it would be nice not to be under the grip of the media and public stupidity when things go pricey again. What can a nice but basic setup cost? Ill probably be reusing old brass too.

You'll still be under the grip of the media and public stupidity with reloading too. Reloading supplies and equipment have all gone up as well. It's not as bad as trying to find off the shelf ammo at normal prices but it's still pretty tough to find certain things.

CleanNeon98 08-26-2013 04:39 PM

At least there noone can tell me how much I can buy at one time. I understand its an investment up front, but as I also understand it makes things considerably cheaper, especially once you've recouped your spending by saving on ammo. I found a single stage Lee press that seems OK, but some other things that come with the "kit" are not so good so I am looking at putting one together using all good stuff.

What can I expect to spend on something like this?

schaffer 08-26-2013 06:25 PM

you can get some hand presse set-ups for under a 100 bucks, even cheaper. They are for one caliber though. Some one the better progressive set-ups go for up to 1000 when all is said and done.

If you are reloading you're going to want to shoot more than you were before.

DC2.2GSR 08-27-2013 09:40 AM

My friend just picked up a full Lee set up for $600, came with all kinds of gear for all common pistol and rifle calibers as well as lots of cast lead .45 and 9mm bullets. I don't know much about what he got, but he had been researching it for a while and says he got a really good deal.

The thing to remember about reloading is that unless you want to make it your full time job it has to be looked at simply as a hobby rather than a serious money-saving investment. To save any real money you first have to pay back the initial investment. After that, you have to shoot a lot in order to see any real savings. You also have to take into account the fact that you'll have a serious time investment to reload all of it.

My friend wanted to get into handloading .308 rounds, so that's why he got the set up. He's looking at it as a hobby, something to do when he's bored, not something to save lots of money.

$69 lowers Through 9-3.

Primary Arms also has a good deal on Gen II PMags right now too; $8.99 if you use the code PMAG2 at checkout (limit 10).
