Went to the oaks show saturday, happy to say that prices on guns are going back to normal. Ammo is a different story tho.

Gun prices can stay up as far as I'm concerned, it's the ammo that makes it nearly impossible to shoot right now. Of course cheaper guns are better, but actually being able to use them is more important. I haven't shot in about 2 1/2 months because I have a limited stock and can't afford to replenish it. It's insane to pay double for ammo, so I just won't shoot until it comes down.

I found 1200 rounds of Federal 9mm at Walmart last night. $13.96/50 round box. No that's reasonable, no inflated BS. I've been dumping money elsewhere and I had no cash to buy it, or else I would have scooped it all up. I bought two boxes though, so at least it's something.

I agree with not being able to shoot lately, I have a good amount of ammo at the moment. People still wanted $800 bucks for a thousand rounds of federal 223. Saw a thousand rounds of federal 9mm for 550. After seeing those prices I just kept walking

hammtheman 05-06-2013 05:27 PM

i got a deal on ammo with the guns i bought from my co-worker. i got 500 rounds of 7.62x39 for 300 bucks and 500 rounds of 9mm for 250. the prices werent super cheap but they are better what im finding at local gun shops

I haven't seen ammo at any Walmart in over 6 months. I've seen the odd
Box of 9/40/45 but that's it really. The only calibers they seem to stock are hunting calibers and misc 12/20/410 gauge.

There are definitely people selling ammo on PAFOA for closer-to-reasonable prices. Firearms prices are getting close to normal, but ammo has only dropped to about 75% of its highest average.

This is what I'm talking about. It's ridiculous that this is what "finding a deal" has become. 7.62x39 is +/- $220 per 1000 rounds (Tula) and 9mm is +/- $260 per 1000 (Federal) at Walmart when they get it in stock. Those are pre-hysteria prices and what it should be everywhere. Yeah you have to wait for it, but when it's there it's there and they don't gouge you for it. I just made friends with the gun counter guys at the local Walmart and they let me know when it's stocked. It also doesn't hurt to stop in once in a while and check at odd times whenever you happen to pass by the store and have a few extra minutes. It's not often that I find it but I'd say every other day there's at least a few boxes of 9mm or .45.

I know a lot of people in this thread are huge fans of online bulk buys but that just doesn't happen any more, prices have gotten insane and stayed there. I dunno, I guess I'm just stubborn or something but I just refuse to play the game. I'll pay regular price and not more. If I can't find it for what it sold for a few months ago I just won't shoot. It sucks too because I was all excited to get more involved with IDPA and a few different games at my local club this summer. Not anymore. It's just not worth $0.50 to pull the trigger one time.

Steve/Dave,

I'm coming back to Bethlehem tomorrow and I'll be around through the weekend. Let me know if you guys want to meet up to shoot!

I just think the lazy ****s at my Walmart don't give a **** about anything but their own little world. Any time I'm in sporting goods I ask and request they order ammo. Not that it gets anywhere but i try. I truly think they just don't care If they sell ammo or not.

I've started checking local gun shops but they are mostly sold out too

HaveBlue83 05-09-2013 02:21 PM

my LGS has 4 people on the line all day...they have a few 1k cases of PMC .223, CASES of 30-06 and 7.62x39, 9mm, 40, 45, and sometimes even 22lr.

it boild down to who is making an effor to stock shelves, and who is waiting for ammo to show up.

pretty much whenever i go out i always look for ammo at different places. had a gift card to cabelas and they finally had some cheap 223 so i got the limit 5 boxes. was like 45 with shipping so wasn't bad. Now i can go to the range without having some left over jic

schaffer 05-13-2013 11:28 PM

My buddy sent me a text that he got ammo at the one walmart near me. Had the gf pick me up 6 boxes of 9mm for 90 bucks.

Anyone here has any experience with Sig P250? I’m mostly interest in durability and trigger quality. I know that it’s a double action only. I would like to know if it’s even pull across from start to finish.

A friend of mine bought one and hated it. I shot it and hated it. Your experience might be different, but unless you really like the way it feels and shoots I would suggest looking elsewhere. The trigger pull was the worst part.
