hahahaha. I am? What about you! :-p

I'd rather be angry than depressed because I'd probably do more sensible things when I'm angry as opposed to if I was depressed.

Alcohol, anger, depression. My 3 wingmen on a normal Saturday night.

So if we're having sex and I said "hey look, its superman", you would be so distracted that I could put it in your butt and you wouldn't notice?

the tacks on my leather sole are loose. they've come out of the wood, but are still in the leather... i guess i can just remove them, move them over a little bit and nail them back in :/

Snoozie 12-01-2008 02:40 PM

So much for $400 shoes, huh?

probably because the original soles weren't meant for the abuse of city streets. that's a great excuse to get them resoled with rubber.

what charly said :p Besides, its just the tacks that go through the leather and into the wood where they couldn't sew the leather on.

have you found a place that can do this? I actually kinda dig the leather and wood soles... they sound awesome walking around lol. The other boot doesn't have this problem, but i did notice that the tacks aren't in the same position between the two boots.

This also isn't a surprise as they're at a region that gets flexed more than any other piece of the sole.

edit: there is a shoe repair place near work... and the reviews seem pretty good. I'll head over there tomorrow during lunch to see what they say

Yeah, but I'd be upset that I paid that much for shoes for them to just come apart, no matter what the reason. That is why I have a hard time spending money on those kinds of things. I would be angry.

~Brian~ 12-01-2008 04:02 PM

$400 on a pair of shoes?

Wow, you guys sure do have some disposable income to burn though...

but they're not really falling apart... i mean, this is a simple metal tack in a piece of wood. its not like the sole is actually falling off... the leather is sewn into the wood all the way around the parameter otherwise and the threads are just fine. i'm really not surprised by this... i actually expected it to happen

Different strokes for different folks I guess.

Snoozie 12-01-2008 04:24 PM

Speaking of shoes, my new sneakers showed up today.

TROLL 12-01-2008 04:28 PM

I would be mad if I had a $50 pair of sneakers that started coming apart in the first month... let alone the fine art sculptures you walk around on these days.
Kinda like buying a brand new Jaguar and having the car break down shortly after driving it off the lot. ...oh wait, that actually does happen, haha.

My Adios came apart a year after I bought them. My vans never came apart even after 3 years of skating, BMX, and regular walking.

Kerplunk105 12-01-2008 04:32 PM

Vans last forever. I've had mine for...5 years? and they still look new.

CleanNeon98 12-01-2008 04:33 PM

omfg again with the shoes...

Scapegoat 12-01-2008 04:33 PM

but they're not falling apart :o

i've got a little metal tack, about a 1/4 inch in length that came out of the wood. this isn't affecting the boot at all. and like i said, its right where the most movement happens with the leather sole... which is built to be replaced after they've worn out. Its a wear and tear item, like the clutch of a finely built audi... only this tack has lasted longer than an audi clutch that has gotten as much wear and tear as these boots have gotten :)

Scapegoat 12-01-2008 04:34 PM

yeah, i used to wear vans in junior high... those things lasted forever

everyone else is "omgyur400bootsletmelickthem"

LOL...shouldnt they last more than a few weeks? Take them back to where you bought them and if they don't exchange them, shove the tacks up their ass..good luck!

Kerplunk105 12-01-2008 04:40 PM

hahaha @ let me lick them

they're not falling apart dip ****

i guarantee i could leave them as is and they'd be fine for a long time... we're dealing with leather, it moves, it stretches, etc. **** happens. and its the sole of the boot...

thats like saying "omg the rubber sole of my cheap shoes are rubbing off and i've lost some tread! i'm taking them back"

Regardless the tacks shouldn't be coming loose....I've never had it happen to any of my stuff anyway.

poisonivory 12-01-2008 04:46 PM

so the fiancee and I sat down last night and tried to make decision on our honeymoon locale......Antigua or St. Lucia is the final question.

To add to this.. I just booked our trip to Jamaica for August 2009. My best friend is having a destination wedding. I'm the best man, of course I have to be there. My wedding is not even a month later, we're booking our honeymoon right after Christmas. We're gonna be spending like $10,000 on 2 trips in less than a month!!! no vacations for us for a while!! lol

right, because everything ever made by anyone that costs any amount of money is infailuable. you try telling a piece of wood to hold in a take when its being moved back and forth do to me walking around quite a bit and playing ping pong in them (i sometimes run to get the ball :o )

**** happens, and its a little tiny 1/4 tack that keeps the back side of the leather sole attached to the wood... regardless of it being sewn on all the way around anyway.

seriously, i'm not gonna fret over something like this that isn't life threatening and doesn't cost more than a penny to fix (and really, i could simply tap the tack into place next to where it is now and it should be fine)

and of course none of your stuff falls aparts... you do realize that everytime it happens they kill the little chinese girl that they paid a penny to make the item

Why don't you calm down your ego, I don't care how much your **** costs, don't get cocky about it. Do whatever the **** you want
