Its a 1500 page book. On things from climates to elevator systems to multi story heating and plumbing sytems. I know the gist of it but I know the final is going to require little details like parts of the elevator safety system or the angle of the sun in Portland, Oregon on June 21st. You know easy stuff :rotfl:

Cmon man you will ace it if you studied it will be a peice of cake. I know what 90% of outlets and I'm not an electrician so I'm sure you know them all.

Thanks man, I know I am going to need it for this one. Its going to be a pain in my balls with this one, because it's an open book test, and you have to find all the codes in the book, and know what your looking for. The other part of the test is that the teacher gives you a room, and you have to know where the receptacles go and how far apart they have to be. Then he expects us to know all the different types of outlets like a single pole switch, duplex receptacle, a gfci receptale, etc etc.

Dude Eric that is all first year stuff for me. GFCI is only 6ft within running water (usually 1 per bathroom) and the others relate to the appliances of the rooms and what the circuit box can handle.

Good luck guys

When I was working on the house project here at school, we all labeled wich wire goes to what, it made it soooooooooooooooooo much easier then guessing at what went where and what size breaker to use.

Thats just what this forum needs...more 'wire boys'.

Yeah, I know all that stuff. Its the actual looking up the codes in the book thats a pain, you have to know what you are looking for so you get the correct answer.

That seems to make it so much harder that you cant use teh book on that. The Code Book is about the same thickness as that one book you were mentioning, 1500 pages of :bs: Who wants to sit there and come up with this stuff?

Yeh, I remember seeing this gang box with wires going everywhere, and he was just....this goes to the porch light, this one is the walkway... yeh.

I guess Miller will be an 'airhead'. But only if he passes the test.

lownslow95 12-11-2007 01:03 PM

Oh I got ya. Its one of the easiest things I have done. The only thing I don't think I will be able to stand is the whole working in a pannel :bs:, or putting in a service entry in the freezing cold....oh wait...already done that and wasn't getting paid :furious:
