Questions
Has ANYONE here taken any Tactical/Advanced pistol/carbine courses? Precision rifle course? Is there an interest in taking one? How much would you expect to pay for a 1-day course, 2-day course? |
Well that depends.. would I be using my own equipment and ammo? Where is the course located? Also when you say 1 or 2 day, how many hours a day? That would determine how much I would be willing to shell out.

Your best bet is to look around on the Internet and then call. Dozens of good trainers and courses out there. Alot of the big names have been traveling around to teach. One guy on pafoa went to a two day Chris Coasta course and I think it was 600 bucks, plus 1400 rifle rounds and 100 pistol. They usually aren't cheap but the big names are worth it. You may think you're proficient with your home defense setup or everyday carry but they can really fine tune how you work. You can also buy alot of the different training videos from the top guys too. I know the basic magpul one can be found in three parts on YouTube. |

1 day course is 8 hours, 2 hours classroom, 6 hours range time 2 day course is the same spread for each, covers different topics/reiterates previous days applications and lessons for classroom. Price is fair, very fair from what Ive gathered looking at comparable courses offered by others These require your own weapons and ammo (this is to learn how to use YOUR weapon properly) Ranges are options, if you are a member somewhere, we can attempt to come to you. OR , we base primarily out of Ft Dix for northern people, and sjsc for southern people Precision Rifle you cannot attend w/o a passport as well (security reasons) My reason for asking, is because there is NO comparable services available locally around here. Ive researched those that have a courses, and it does not meet my standard. I could not actually charge a price for how their courses are designed. From what I gather, if I were to, I and II claesses would be combined into course I, for what we do. and go from there This is why I ask if anyone HAS ACTUALLY taken courses. LEO Officers, this includes you gentleman as well. I want to know whats available. We have worked with various LEO agencies. Thats not civilian related though, but I would like to know what they actually teach, what you did /did not like about the course |
Hey guys, remember we don't discuss prices in here.

so noone has taken advanced courses?
|
Just placed an order of AR parts from LaRue
Bought this, this, and this. I wanted to buy the Commercial Spec buttstock because of the thicker shoulder pad, but LaRue was gouging it by an additional $20 and I'm not about to pay it. Except for the larger receiver extension hole and the pad, it's the same as the mil spec. |
After not buying anything since the P238 SAS (and aside from building a couple lowers I had laying around), I finally broke my 1+ year hiatus in gun buying. I ordered the Aug A3 NATO and the FiveSeven today, no telling when they will come in. MSRP for the AUG and below MSRP on the FiveSeven. I can deal with waiting...especially when I see the FiveSeven and Aug selling for 3 grand!
