what darkening text? what browser, and version, are you using? no text should be darkening, and if it is i need to take care of it.
i'm a huge drupal fan. i'm still exploring the more "correct" ways to use it and all of its features. i'm delving into building my own modules and pulling from the database the info i need. not being a DBA and not being familiar with drupal's DB structure its been trying, at first. i made a lot of use of mysql admin programs on my computer.
i really want to stretch the boundaries of my knowledge and skills... i was able to do that a bit with the two sites and i'm hoping to get more challenging work.
i'd love to work on a store site as well... and am considering finding a supplier company that does drop shipment so i can build my own.
personally... i like django much better than these open source CMS'... but it doesn't make sense to reinvent the wheel. instead of two full days of work to get nick's site up, it would have taken me a week or more.
thanks for the compliments :) i realize nick's site isn't... flashy... but there is elegance in simplicity. there has been a lot... i repeat... a lot of consideration taken in the design.

Yeah, with regards to the expansion, I'm a huge fan of sites that expand and contract regardless of browser width comfortably. I know it's a very hard thing to pull off though so I understand when not every site manages it.
The browser that darkens the text I now realize is flock which I use at work as a "secondary" browser. It's based on firefox 2 so I don't think you should care about it probably.
As for the CMS. It's a good fit. Really the problem with CMS's is that they all look the same. The fact that I had to carefully examine the source to notice that you're using drupal means you really did it right. My one site, which I admittedly don't take seriously at all, http://www.atari-source.org) is basically the out of box template. I don't have any good examples of my web work because.... I hate web work ;)
Btw. If you use mac, check out sequel pro. I didn't know about it until recently.
