This would be better to start a thread in the tech section...
Changing parts may very well mess with your fuel delivery, and yes new OEM parts are very expensive. Unless you know for sure what you're doing and what it will change, I'd go with the same part as the original... you can buy new or find a used one I guess. |

Changing a fuel pump to a larger capacity fuel pump shouldnt change the amount of fuel going into the combustion chambers... it should only affect the car's ability to deliver more fuel if necessary. In other words, a larger fuel pump shouldnt (to my knowledge) throw off a/f ratios. I used to have a 255lph pump in my integra that was there when the car was turbo'd. When the turbo was removed, the 255 stayed.. and didnt affect the way the car ran. |
You're missing one thing... if your FPR and fuel return line cannot accommodate the extra flow of fuel being pumped toward the motor, it will result in an increase in fuel pressure, and fuel delivery. The car wont run well this way. It may or may not be an issue, depends on the capacity of the return setup.
Your best bet... keep with original parts. If you want to talk about this any further please start a thread about it, thats the proper way to do this instead of in this thread. |
