Yeah. Find anybody with a decent price?

Snoozie 01-25-2010 01:27 PM

I went against my better judgement and clicked the "unrelated topics thread" at work.

Thanks, Ken.

Well, letting my ghetto de humidifing system work in the garage haha. Just a little down time before I can do anything further, but the subaru paint is going to come up really well at this point.

Oh and there are accidents EVERYWHERE today, it's like the first time it ever rained. The 76 on ramp off of 202 was shut down, apparently one dead and one had to be airlifted. The accident was all the way down by the Conshy exit, so it must have been bad to shut if off at 202

sleeperSL2 01-25-2010 01:32 PM

screw the rain

Yeah, I had no idea of his situation, he didnt exactly look to be in the best state when he approached us which is why I was calm as possible. For that reason I didn't move the other car back in until I was done prepping the first one completely and just called it a night. I'm going to keep moving them to minimum regardless, wouldnt want to cause any further issue.

Damn that is really bad. Do people really not know how to drive in this weather? It's just rain with a little bit of wind. Take your time. That is the exit I get off for work. 202 to 76, then off at Conshy exit.

240sxDann 01-25-2010 01:39 PM

You mean your not supposed to come to damn near a complete stop on the bypass when it rains? Damn and here I thought everybody was correct while doing that. -_-; Traffic sucked ass this morning. People are just retarded.

Oakes 01-25-2010 01:51 PM

Yeah, it's ridiculous out there. Such simple fundamentals can't be achieved.

Oh well, such is life. Time for me to get back to work! Hope the garage is more balanced

No Nick, I'll miss your words of wisdom.

Oakes 01-25-2010 02:06 PM

That is a fluke. I've never head of rust spots. As far as paint chips, the paint is soft but if there is damage it is the owner not the car.

Door handles did chip though, but dealer warrenty'd it.

Quick question for you guys...

Im having a fuel pump installed on my gf's eclipse 2.0 non turbo. I picked up a fuel pump from a same year tsi for cheap to throw in there. The mechanic thats doing the work is telling me that its the wrong fuel pump, and that messing with the fuel pressure can screw up the engine. But the fuel pump pressure is determined by voltage, correct? So replacing the stock fuel pump, with a higher flowing one shouldnt affect the amount of fuel going into the engine at all, right? The stock fuel pump flows 150lph @43psi, and the tsi is an 180lph.

He's trying to sell us on a new, OEM fuel pump for $200. I bought this tsi one for $20. Is he jerkin me around here?

TROLL 01-25-2010 02:20 PM

This would be better to start a thread in the tech section...
Changing parts may very well mess with your fuel delivery, and yes new OEM parts are very expensive. Unless you know for sure what you're doing and what it will change, I'd go with the same part as the original... you can buy new or find a used one I guess.
