my girlfriend was watching the news and I overheard the news reporter say "semi assualt pistol"... i'm assuming he meant "semi auto pistol" but to me this just indicates how much some people want to assualt ban to come back.

Does anyone here go to the Oakes gun show I'm in the market for a ar and a kimber handgun and I was wondering if this was a good place to look and see if I could get a bargain on either

Yeah I did. plenty of ARs and Kimbers, depends on your budget and what exactly you want. Not many bargains from what I saw. It seems like gun shows have left the word bargain far behind and become nothing more than MSRP or above. Anything you look at is right at or above MSRP even when used. I'm sure you could find a seller who would be willing to cut you a break on their tag price, but that would probably only bring it back down to the same price that you can get it for anywhere at any time.

Thanks for the info I kind of figured that so I guess it's not worth the hr drive

Haha I agree. I've NEVER been to a gun show and have bought more guns than nearly anyone I know.. Buy from people you know and trust (CPI and Clayton's for me) and you know you'll never get ripped off.

This is not looking good for us firearm owners.

A Californian agains evil black guns?? Nooooooo.

99corvette 12-16-2012 06:30 PM

Not sure if you guys heard about this, since the media will NOT report this story. http://www.kgw.com/news/Clackamas-ma...183593571.html

~Brian~ 12-16-2012 08:30 PM

Of course they won't report that.. just like with that 70 year old guy in Florida who shot two armed would-be robbers in the internet cafe back in July. A law abiding gun owner using his firearm doesn't generate ratings. God forbid the media be fair and balanced when talking about guns..

CleanNeon98 12-16-2012 11:15 PM

Any sense in buying a few ARs before the ban goes through for profitable reasons?

Yes. There's always good sense in investing in firearms. Be careful about how you spend your money and what exact rifles and parts you invest in and you could see some profit. At worst you have some awesome gear and you can always sell off what you don't want or need, whether a ban goes through or not.

I wouldn't use that guy as an example of proper self defense, he was shooting them in the back as they ran away haha

I don't think you need to do it like tomorrow Alex, If something happens its not going to be for a year+ they can't suspend the 2a overnight. If anything I'd stock up on 30rd "clips" in 223/556 if your hell bent on getting a few AR's right away, get a few bushmasters in various lengths, cheap and basically the perfect all around entry level evil black gun

Due to recent events, it looks like I am going to have to stock up on everything. It has been a while, but if Spikes Tactical is going to ship me something, they have to ship one the lower receiver to where I got my Concealed Weapons Permit?

Just found out that my boss has one of these :
http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...psecd866d5.jpg

He is retiring in Jan. maybe he won't know how much it is worth and will sell it to me cheap lol He also has a Winchester Model 1912. I think they are both from his father who fought and died during the Battle of the Bulge so I don't know if he is willing to sell... doesn't hurt to ask though

CleanNeon98 12-17-2012 04:46 PM

Had an intch for a while and pulled the trigger on some new AK stuff.

And an AK74 style muzzle brake. Can't wait to see what this does. Really been wanting a longer stock on this thing.

Having a problem with the Kimber..

The other day I noticed some rust on the barrel but I'm not sure where it came from. It's been a few months since I've shot it and immediately after the last time, I completely cleaned it and properly greased the barrel. Since then, it's only been in and out of my holster and hasn't come into contact with any liquids. I tried to clean it up at little bit with a polishing rag before I took the pic, but the rust is obviously still there

Any thoughts?

*edit- forgot to post the pic haha
