I'm normally along the same lines as what Ken is talking about though. I graduated HS and went right to working. Money was way more important at the time. Now that work is paying up to $6400 a year I'm getting full tuition reimbursement for it all. Money is still ahead of everything. If work wasn't paying me back I can't say I'd be taking classes right now...

with me, after i graduated HS, i went right into the military. 8 years later, now i'm starting college. But, thanks to the Post 9/11 GI bill, all my tution is covered, all my books, and i'm getting $990+ for "rent".
but, come this summer, i'll start working full time at this army depot close by, then during my 2nd year, i'll be working only part time while going to class.
and hopfully, afterwards, i get hired right after college, and get paid $20+ an hour right off the bat
