I guess what I'm really tryin to say is I wish I was a spoiled rich kid LOL

Agreed. But, I wasn't a spoiled rich kid. My parents never pushed me to go to school, so I didn't think that not going was a big deal. Looking back, I wish I went to college. :o

My university right now pays for almost all but 2 grand of my tuition through scholarships(which is about 22g's),I go full time, and still manage to work 30+ hours a week.
Not down talking you because i dont know your current situation in terms of finances and bills, but not everyone who goes to college full time is a spoiled rich kid lol.

russiankid 01-19-2010 12:20 PM

I am trying to get a job this semester, I need to pay my dad back.

Oh completely understood. I'm not saying everyone who goes full time is, I'm just sayin I wish I was hahaha. I don't think I could even do full time, cuz I couldn't go to any classes till like 6:30pm every night.

Scapegoat 01-19-2010 12:23 PM

i should go back to school for my profession... but i don't have the time or inclination to go to class, do homework, go to work, etc.

and it never ceases to fail that i get a paying side gig while in school... money > class

perhaps when i get my business to the point that i don't need a full time job as well i'll consider going back... maybe for cooking...

I work 8 hrs a day 5 days a week plus take 3 night classes during the week. For this semester Im trying 2 online courses and one on campus... Figured I'd save miles and I'll be able to so the work on my own time without wasting 3 hours a night in each class. I'm kind of interested to see how this goes.

I'm normally along the same lines as what Ken is talking about though. I graduated HS and went right to working. Money was way more important at the time. Now that work is paying up to $6400 a year I'm getting full tuition reimbursement for it all. Money is still ahead of everything. If work wasn't paying me back I can't say I'd be taking classes right now...

That's pretty awesome. What do you do?

russiankid 01-19-2010 12:31 PM

Michelle, I know Art took an online math course. He said it was hell because it was all homework.

Foolinaround 01-19-2010 12:31 PM

Ken you're in the computer world right? If so your company dosen't have any incentives for furthering your education?

And yeah dan i wish i was a spoiled rich kid too, whos parents send em to private schools, basically 42g's a year for a diploma at the end. And maybe you could take just once class for now at night, dont gotta take a full load, and then take more when you can,itd at least be a start lol. My mom just went back to school after getting laid off from wachovia after 17 years of working for their commercial banking branch in both philly and florida(She worked there before it was first union.)

I dont know how she does it really with my 4 year old brother and 14 year old sister at home, she works from 3am-1pm,then goes to class til 8-9,then comes home does homework and goes to sleep after taking care of the kids. Shes the whole reason im in school right now
