That's what I do with my money Jim, get to a certain amount and put it in a 3 month cd which there aren't any good rates for. Best I could find was with Citadel having 1% interest for 3 months.

1%? At one point I got that from my checking account ;) Etrade savings is like 3% or more.

Sup all. Did front brakes in the 3000gt last night. 1 pad was completely worn down to the backing plate the other 3 had maybe a mm left of material. This car just passed inspection a couple months and maybe 3000 miles ago... riight.

Where the heck are you all finding these rates? I keep trying to find rates like these everywhere and have had no luck whatsoever.

I've got a Charles Schwab that has a lot of money in there. One good stock that pays well on dividends is Pfizer. Got me $64 last quarter on dividends, not to mention the stock has gone up about $4 since I bought it last Janurary.

Foolinaround 01-14-2010 03:04 PM

Pfizer makes insane dividends, one of the biggest pharmaceutical companies in the world

Check your rates, they may have went down since last year.

I was going to recommend you a stock. Altria (ticker symbol MO). Its the old american unit of phillip morris. I bought 400 shares a few years back. Its been about the same price or gone up a little since i bought it. But today my account has 455 shares. The extra 55 shares came from the dividends. That alone made me a 13% gain on the price i paid to buy the original 400 shares.

If you take anything from the post......buy stocks that pay dividends and have the dividends re-invested. Those free shares will make you a few dollars.
