newest mod:

(for extra credit name 5 other identifiable things in this photo.)

i think i'm gonna love it at least as much as much as my neighbors hate it

also, perrin headers, turboxs ewg uppipe, and vf43 exhaust housing have all been ceramic coated. hks downpipe has been heatwrapped and will also be sprayed with a thermal spraypaint to seal it. vf43 compressor housing inlet and outlet have been ported and polished, and the housing is being powdercoated crinkle red, just because i can. all of those things as well as a tial 44mm ewg are being installed this weekend, which will finish my mods except for alky which i am figuring out momentarily.
i might get a tune before the alky, then go back... depends how things play out and how much longer i can stand it.

Good luck man, inform the tuner magazines to reserve a few pages for you :)

4 jack stands and a new jack that you got a discounted price....

Hando567 10-11-2007 10:27 PM

4 jack stands, a creeper, some lawn chairs. a tarp, and a large metal pole, which my guess goes to a large floor jack.

TROLL 10-11-2007 11:21 PM

haha...
well i took all the old stuff off the car and have the new turbo and uppipe on... tightening down those bolts, then lifting the header up, then the downpipe and ewg... down the home stretch here :)

pete_chon 10-12-2007 12:48 AM

Great ride, great swap, and even better build up.

Vypurr 10-12-2007 10:34 AM

No, no, no. Don't you guys remember? He has an 07' STi, but he removed the air pump to save weight. This is simply an upgraded air pump. It should give him like 37whp. Trust me!

Get some damned pics of your bitch of a manifold already. i didn't ceramic coat all that bull**** for nothing ;)

TROLL 10-12-2007 11:45 PM

haha... yeah i took some pics and i got the install finished... it was a bitch, and the ewg fitment is very tight. i dont currently have the top fitting on the ewg because i couldnt get it in, but i'm working on that situation right now and talking to turboxs about it... if they have to send a replacement i'm gonna be pissed... that'd mean doing the ceramic coat and the install all over. blahhhh

Did the manifold fit I hope?

TROLL 10-13-2007 12:30 AM

yea just like it did before... little tight to get on but thats how it was last time too.

i only started the car and let it warm up once so far and it wasnt on jackstands so i couldnt really check for leaks but it seems like the slip joints might leak when they're cold then seal up once they're up to temp. i might be thrown off by the louder exhaust from the high idle when its cold but thats what it sounds like to me. seems like its not uncommon and that its acceptable... hey, as long as they seal when the car is warmed up its ok with me.
