Oakes 01-12-2010 02:21 PM

Just got back from the doctors, I grew another inch and gained 17 lbs...woot!

Now I'm eating a Classic Italian, Protein power pack and a V8 splash

HickRocket1258 01-12-2010 02:30 PM

Wow, healthy eating now Nick?

Oakes 01-12-2010 02:34 PM

Yeah man, I'm getting back in shape. The protein pack has a hard boiled egg, almonds, grapes, apples, peanut butter and a bagel. 27 grams of protein

Oh and check out my sick new Logo courtesy of Ken and Caleb

Big_Jim 01-12-2010 02:35 PM

i just had a soda for the first time in weeks, christ the sugar is insane.

grimm 01-12-2010 02:38 PM

sounds like a good meal Nick.
logo is eh... kind of plain jane. also the K and S should probably follow suit and have a stripe thru it.

TROLL 01-12-2010 02:47 PM

damn, gained 17 pounds since when?
and i gotta agree... logo is... alright.

damn, and here i am trying to lose weight.

and your logo, meh

Oakes 01-12-2010 02:52 PM

17 lbs over....10 months? I forget

I wanted something simple and noticeable with the logo, nothing crazy artistic or flashy. Needs to be visible and recognizable in small and big prints, easy to print and my name is catchy and everyone remembers it. So it wouldnt make sense to make some kind of buffer wheel super crazy upside down logo to catch everyones attention, the name is known, people recognize it and it goes from there.

exactly. it's going to accomplish what it was meant to.

people forget, especially with online business... that a logo needs to traverse more than the internet. It's going to show up everywhere his name is associated. Its going to be recognizable off the bat in any media and not cost an ass load to be reproduced for that media.

HickRocket1258 01-12-2010 02:57 PM

I have to get back into shape too Nick. I gained like 10 pounds in several months. Problem is my legs are bad these days so it's hard to get back into jogging or anything.

grimm 01-12-2010 02:58 PM

a good logo should do all of those things, but that doesn't mean it should lack creativity and style. Also it should portray the type of business and clientele you work with. That logo does not speak high end cars to me.

Scapegoat 01-12-2010 03:09 PM

i'm not quite sure if you showed anyone the current logo that people wouldn't immediately say, "high end cars!" either.

Oakes logo is about name recognition. The logo is classy, simple, easy to read. Any forum he goes to, any cards he hands out... people are going to know who it is. To say that it lacks creativity and style is a bit harsh. Oakes doesn't need a gimmick to sell his work, and his logo doesn't need a gimmick to sell him. and that was taken into consideration of the flow and design of the logo.

This on top of his new website is going to have him standing out more than he already is.

Do a spin class. They will ship you into shape and it is low impact.

angdefeo 01-12-2010 03:22 PM

nice work Ken, the logo is clean, clear, and works for any type of media.
