i was, but im selling it to finally get something that ive wanted for even longer than this one. (but its twice as much money $$$).... MP5sd (see pic below) its a SBR with an internal suppressor (gonna be a lot more than the CA89K, and require a 6 month wait, lots of time and paperwork, and two $200 NFA tax stamps ($400 total to the man). i also had the CA94 keeping me busy (the rifle mp5 version) and never even shoot this one.

mp5 SD Suppressed and SBR'd

Very nice upgrade. Suppressed mp5 rocks, my last class 3 transfer took 7 months. Hope you get yours back sooner.

yeah ive never done anything with NFA/class iii, but im super hyped!!!!!! but its not even gonna be serial numbered or ready from the builder to file the paper work until the end of December, so that when the paper work can be sent in. I HATE WAITING!!!!! prob looking at june or jully to finally get it.

but i do have a 89k PDW "sbr" with folding stock and K grip in the process of being custom built right now (should be done by the end of the month) so i can send the paper work in for them in a few weeks. so we will see. i just need my coharie CA89K sold other wise im not sure how im going to pay for all this....lol.

im sure it will sell and will be worth it once i get these approved and in my hands, it will make shooting so much more fun.

Can't make a post 86 machine gun unless your a sot. Only way he can run them full auto if he buys a sear/trigger pack that's been registered before 1986 or becomes a sot.

Took off the ****ty Barska scope that came with the Mossberg .308 ATR 100 i got a few months back and replaced with a Leupold. Shot a way better group with it at 100 yards. Ready to slay a buck next month.

Considering selling the XDM and picking up an Sig 229 in .40. Thoughts?

I loved mine. It was sort of an impulse buy and I ended up selling it after a few months to buy something else. If I remember correctly I think you actually shot that one at Classic Pistol. It was a great gun but I just had no real reason to own it so I got rid of it. I would actually be sort of interested in finding one again, I really liked shooting it.

Munky 10-17-2012 10:50 PM

I liked my P229 but it just sat in the safe the entire time. Too heavy/bulky to carry compared to my other guns and too nice/expensive to EDC because I was always worried about smacking it into things. Shot great though but I sold it for more ammo & another Kimber UCII. :D

Yep, I did... Loved the feel of it and the way it shot.

Well I use my Kimber UCII as an EDC and it is comparable in cost/aesthetics to the 229. Took me a while to get used to banging it up, but eventually I got over it.

Still haven't decided whether I want to use it as a daily carry, mostly because it is a larger gun.

Anybody have a line on a cheap one?

*edit- also, what should go with another .40 or bump down to 9mm?

Kimbers are cheap...on the grand scheme of 1911's Im sure you'll get your money out of it, or already have.

DC2.2GSR 10-18-2012 09:20 AM

I would go with a .40 if you're carrying it but a 9mm if it's mostly for the range.

I've been gravitating toward 9mm lately because of cost. I was actually talking to a guy last week about buying a W. German P226 in 9mm but he has backed off a little, I think he wants to keep it. I'd like to find an older west german non-railed P226 or P229 in 9mm that I can throw some Elite parts into and refinish and make a nice range gun out of. I'd also get the .22LR conversion just so that I could shoot a lot more.

Well my spending power is limited since I'm a college student, so for the money, I feel that a Kimber is a very nice gun to have as an EDC.

Mike, I was thinking the same thing about the .40 vs the 9mm. Ultimatlely, I would like to have the Elite version, but as of now, I don't want to spend that much money on a handgun. And if I was going to spend that much, I would put it towards an AR.

As much as I like the Sig, I will probably hold off on it for a while. I like the UCII for an EDC and I don't see myself putting it back in the safe for the Sig.

I do want a 9mm though, mostly because it is a lot cheaper to shoot. I guess I'm back to looking at the P30. Been drooling over it for years now, maybe it's time I finally get one.

exactly! but i do plan on eventually saving up and getting a registered sear to make it full auto (they usually come with the trigger pack), that way it can be swapped to different hosts.

its a 3 position 3 trigger pack with the FA filed down (i dont even think it will allow to switch, but even if it does it will be semi). but
