I have a mustang that needs a bumper repainted too, but have yet to get a quote on it. I'm going to assume $300.

Any opinions on what it should cost the get just the front bumper re-sprayed on my car? I'll be taking just the bumper to wherever I get it done, not the whole car.

I had L.I.P. Collision do some paint work on my Supra and was really happy with their work, and I'm one of those pain in the ass perfectionist types. I'd definitely recommend getting in touch with them, not just for the quality of the finished product but also for their overall service throughout the process.
They're a vendor on here so you can find their vendor forum to get in touch or see www.lipcollision.com .
I think you should be able to have it done for well under $500 if the bumper is brand new without any paint on it currently since that will reduce the amount of prep needed.

yea i didnt misread it, i dont **** around with a $200 paint job. you get what you pay for.

Well a grand for a bumper is ridiculous. I'd hate to see what you think a whole car would cost.

a proper paint job for the entire car the same color will run you upwards of 5-10k.

Thanks for the information. If I cant find a respectable shop around here, I'll look into them. More as a backup because their shop is over an hour away from my house.

Yeah I drove a bit to get there and it was a bit of a pain but I'm really happy I did it. Just make sure you go to a shop that has good recommendations and you feel really comfortable with (assuming you care about the end result). I think the biggest thing to keep in mind is not to just flat out price-shop because there is a wide spectrum for different qualities of work, so you really can't compare one shop to the next sometimes. Unfortunately there are a lot of shops out there that cut corners and might be a little cheaper, but it does affect the finished product.

Yeah, I'm definitely concerned about the final outcome considering I'd possibly like to put my car in some small shows this year just for fun. I'd like to sand off the old paint and everything myself, but I've never done body work. I've worked with sanders as far as wood finishing and stuff but this is different. I dont want to mess anything up because black paint shows the most. (i think?)
