If you want to shoot P90's on a regular basis, join one of the gov't agences, become a LEO and talk your agency in to purchasing the P90, or become a Class III NFA dealer (I don't know the exact dealer words to do this) and get a hold of a post ban dealer sample P90. The last option is as close as you can possibly be to owning the P90 (your business would own it). As to the gentleman who told you that he was moving to PA to own "machine guns", he is right. A lot of the states allow NFA items, but you can only own PRE BAN (MANUFACTURED BEFORE 1986) full autos. The tax stamp is only $200, and it's not hard to go through the NFA process (just time consuming). If you ever move to PA, here is a wealth of information http://www.pafoa.org/forum/nfa-class-3-title-ii-34/ |
I think that I'm going to start the paperwork to short barrel the PS90 this week

those top load mags are so effing cool! the entire set up reminds me of a storm ship troopers gun haha
|
itsstock, whats the difference between the Ps90 and the other? They look relatively similar
|
^
The PS90 is the civilian version. All P90's are restricted to LEOs or Class 3 Dealers. the P90 is auto. the PS90 is semi, im pretty sure the S stands for sivilian (how they say it over there), the PS90 also has a longer barrel... i may be wrong and im sure itsstock will let me know haha |
The P90 was designed as a PDW (personal defense weapon) that can be easily concealed and based on a caliber that is capable of penetrating most modern body armors (in this case, the SS190, SS192, (both available for first hand sale only to LE/gov't agencies), and the widely available SS195). The SS rounds are a 5.7x28 made ONLY by FN and is really only effective well under 100 yards.
The F2000 was designed to accomplish the same things as the M4 (basically a 14.5" barrel AR15), in that it is extremely versatile (not only is use of the gun, but in use of attachments FOR the gun) yet still compact. It can be used for close quarter battle/combat, all of the way out past a couple hundred yards. It uses the nato 5.56x45 round just like the M4/AR15's do, as well as the same magazines. In the sense that it is a bullpup, it is like the P90, but other than the bullpup design and being fully ambidextrous, they are the only similarities. |
