oh, I see why you asked, lol, forgot I said that... Yea... not selling any of them now, figured I'd regret it in the long run.

Cheapest I've found for 7.62 x 54R Mosin ammo, that's for sure.

They let you have AK's in jersey?

the mike 08-04-2012 07:03 PM

I think AK's are 7.62 x 39. This is for a 1936 Mosin-Nagant Russian rifle. We can have AK "style" semi-auto rifles, but nothing full auto.

Correct, have to watch out for that cheaper 7.62x54r, it is corrosive.

the mike 08-05-2012 08:22 PM

Yeah, but my choices are corrosive or expensive. I have no problem stripping my gear after every session.

Quattro26 08-08-2012 09:29 AM

A trick I use when shooting corrosive through mine, is to spray Windex down the barrel (the ammonia in it neutrals out the salt) and then just clean it like I would any normal gun. Windex is water based, so make sure you run patches through it till it is completely dry.

Just installed my AAC brakeout lastnight on my ar15, looks pretty good. Can't wait to shoot it I have a feeling its gonna be a lot louder then before. I will try to get some pictures up asap.

While looking at a used gun specifically semi pistols and ARs what are some things i should really be looking at? I know specific brands and models come into to play but on a average base.

What do you mean? I would look at round count, whether it has been sent it for work (some guns are lemons and are just NEVER "right"

the mike 08-09-2012 11:22 PM

Look at cost of shooting too. I know my 9mm's don't have a ton of knock down power, but ammo is plentiful and cheap. As is .223/5.56. I would love a 10mm gun(probably a Glock 20) but the chance of finding 10mm rounds at the local shop is definitely lower.
That said there are some guns that the smile factor far outweighs all that. The .50AE and .500 Magnum come to mind. :)

99corvette 08-09-2012 11:44 PM

Yea I own a 50ae desert eagle, only put 50 rounds through the damn thing. Only reason I bought it was because I got offered a deal on it with 6 magazines and 5 boxes of imi factory ammo that I couldn't turn down. Nice part is that its made in Israel unlike the newer ones.

kind of that information and like if a certain part on a ar or pistol that i should always check on when buying one used. Ive never bought a used gun and don;t know anyone(well worth trusting) who has bought a used gun.

Trade for a CZ? ;)

I bought my Glock used, but I knew the guy selling it. I'm sure there are a few guys on here that have bought guns from each other.
As far as buying used from an unknown source, I know there are sites like Buds that have used guns for sale. Just hold a few guns and see if you can find a used one.

I'm not sure what you mean but it really depends where you are looking to buy them. Some local gun shops are pretty good about knowing the people who traded the guns and letting you know if something is a good buy or not. For me sometimes it isn't worth buying used since a price used may only be $50 or $100 less. For me I'd rather a brand new gun.

Got the guns all cleaned up yesterday, headed to the mountains this morning for a fun day of shooting

hammtheman 08-20-2012 09:38 PM

if you go to a reputable shop they will be honest about the gun. i bought my ruger used from a local shop and they told me about the guy that owned it (retired cop) and that he hardly shot it and then they broke it down and showed me the usual wear spots and things to look for. they were really stand up guys and i will go back to the them for all my pistol needs.
