thats all he did. He didnt replace anything, but he called me and was like, my temp gauge is doing some wierd things. He said it threw a cell, but he reset his battery and it went away. This was about a month or so ago and it hasnt been acting up since. He definitely drove it enough for the ECU to know theres an issue. I would try that first.

Is your tstat conencted to a sensor? when my car (also OBD-II) threw its tstat, i didnt get any codes. just a really hot engine. Could be stuck opened and keeping your motor too cool also.
