GTO pissed me off today. I noticed the temp guage was a little lower then normal yesterday. Heat didn't seem scolding hot like it used to but was still very good. Figured it was because it is just that cold out. I've been driving the Talon most days right now. Didn't really think anything of it as I replaced the rad and t-stat maybe 4 months ago. I did double check my coolant level and it was right on the mark so no issue.

Today, my temp barely got to the first bar on my guage, then the CEL kicked on. Got to work, coolant is within spec level. I poped the pressurized overflow tank cap slowly but there wasn't much pressure. I'm assuming the t-stat failed and is stuck open since it didn't get hot enogh to build high pressure? When I get home I can hook my HP Tuners to it is read the code, but thats what I'm assuming it is. Gonna call SLP and get a new one. $25 160* t=stat should last more then 4 months especially when the car isn't driven everyday.

Hopefully this is going to be a cheap easy fix and nothing major.

My buddies GTO, hes on here...supercoyle is his name. He had a similar problem recently. He simply reset his ECU and it fixed it with no problem. but he didnt let his problem go long. Autozone wouldnt take his codes in the rain either. it was pretty messed up. hahh

So I failed my inspection yesterday. :o I need a new bumper, new breaks, wheel bearings, and a 3rd break light. They quoted me $780 to fix all that, and I basically told them to go **** them selves because I'm not paying that. So I'm getting all the parts today and doing it myself.

Why did you even take it in that condition? That is all stuff you should know you need and not be shocked about.

Do you mean reset the ECU as in just pull the battery?? or return to stock which I can't do with my cam and all.
