So? He still did the work.
I get a million and one PMs from toyota guys on a daily basis about swapping their cars, and at the end of the day, even if I walk them through it, they still did it on their own.

my eye hasnt stopped twitching for more than like 10 minutes in the last 3 weeks.

My parents offered to buy me stuff in high school, i always declined, this may sound weird, but i babysat my nieces and nephews during the summer but because of the devotion i had to football, my parents didnt force me to work. until later in my senior year. now, im a full time college student and working here and there at a transportation company. i don't go out so every thing i earn i put right in the bank. although, my dad did buy my car for me, surprised me, i didn't ask for it.

CHAOS 12-29-2009 02:22 PM

hey art.... is it common for the water temp sensor to go bad on that 1.6? the cluster gauge never reads above like 1/4 hot so im wondering if maybe the thermostat is borked or if the sensor is borked.

Sam you have a real desire to make your situation worse than everyone, harder than everyone, more experienced, and more intelligent than everyone. That's really not appealing. Some of the comments you make are straight up ignorant.

</rant>

And this is relevant how? But while we are on the subject. I asked for help on the rear main seal, clutch setup, and probably a few more things. Otherwise, you're acting like I asked you how to do the whole swap.

Here is the problem....you must not think before you talk. Your parents started buying you things in highschool? So we are assuming that you bought yourself toys, games, etc when you were in grade school? That is what you are saying in your last post.

After all this back and forth....i think the lesson you can take from today is to think before you write.

They bought me thing until we moved to the states. From the time I was 6 to about 10-11, I never really had toys because we couldn't afford it.

hahaha yeah i had the same problem. you need a new sensor. its like 20bucks. just get the one for the gauge, not the one for the ecu.

only after that would i check the thermostat.

He did the work of course - and thats great. But, on bimmerforums and on TST he's offering advice and dismissing that people have helped him. I won't say anything on bimmerforums as I am not out to humiliate him, but when you need a bunch of help you really can't turn around and start offering advice on the same topic and saying "This is how I do it..." - get me?

I get the same thing from Honda guys. Why? Because I have taken the car apart using a ****ing manual and that is it. I offer help, not like I go out and do it for them.

My IM's log bro... I have nothing to prove, obviously, but just so you know. There were numerous times I gave you an answer contradicting what you thought or intended, and then you ended up doing it the right way (what I mentioned) and went on to the forum and just soaked it in like you were unassisted. I don't care - I am just saying, when you're in that position getting help you can't be turning around and telling guys about their clutch discs and such. How long did you insist that clutch disc was new at 7mm of material thickness?

Can I tell the story about offering to make you that transmission drift and how you wouldn't put up $20?

You really think I couldn't have figured out how to do all that **** without your help? I do appreciate you saving me headaches and time, but I have done a rear main seal before on my Honda. I have done a clutch before, not my first time. I asked for your advice because this is my first BMW that I swapping. And yeah, I do say this is how I did it. Or do you want me to start crediting you on everything I say because you did the work for me. Or should I say I did it this way, because Jon told me so. I have gave you credit several times in my build thread.
