I have a question. How do you have any money if you dont have a job?

Imagine living in a place that has no local law enforcement, where traffic on the way to school means having to pass an old person at 80mph on a back road barely wide enough for two cars. One state trooper patrols once a month because the barracks is 25+ miles away. Welcome to my teenage years. I do miss that aspect of them.

its dead up here. no local cops. only staties. my highschool years would have been more fun, if my parents weren't so over protective.

but, i made up for that in the military

and going fast wasn't an option for me in highschool, i didn't own anyting fast back then

what he said. i've bought everything i've own car wise. no hand me downs. well, maybe, i traded my escort gt i bought with my dad for his beat up pickup truck.

my insurance for 2 cars (full coverage for one, liabilty for the durango) is $800ish, i forgot, got to look at my bill again. right now my black hatchback is un-insured, cause it's been sitting while i rebuild it.

I have been saving money since I was about 12. I cut grass for my neighborhood. I worked at a grocery store when I was 16. I made money helping people out with various things. After many years, it all adds up.

Sell illegal substances?

Scapegoat 12-29-2009 01:56 PM

I got **** handed to me growing up. I think my stepdad paid for about 8k in junk cars for me to drive over the years, if I needed money to go out I simply asked for some and I got a 20.

That being said, I also helped out a lot. I painted the entire god damn fence, I did yard work, etc. I worked for my mom's business for nothing for a few years too.

But now I pay for all my **** and it sucks lol

That is the thing a lot of people on here don't get. I don't just sit around all day.

Do you have a meter like a taxi that gauges your time spent commuting vs "going out" because my car has one fuel tank and all the gas costs me money regardless of where it goes.

I think your contradicting yourself. I understand it that you didnt get anything handed to you but then someone helped you out spending $8k in cars and 20's if you wanted to go out.

I agree with you about bills sucking now. They always sucked.

One tank of gas goes for just commuting a week. I don't go out on weekdays.

i got a weekly allowence, till i got a job. then that stopped, but i still had to do the same work at home.

but in my parents defense, my dad didn't have a great job back then, and they had just bought a house. so, for me to complain, is just being a douche.

How does it not make sense? And yes, what is wrong with that? It is rocket science to pull a cord, push down a lever, and walk? I know how to walk and or push an object that is on wheels. Not very difficult.

whats wrong with cutting the grass at 12? i started at 10.

lagos 12-29-2009 02:07 PM

I love how everyone is fronting like their parents never helped them out. Its part of life and there is nothing wrong with it. At some point in time you'll be on your own paying your own way, but if your still living at home, even if you pay rent your parents are still helping you out.

My point wasn't that it makes no sense cutting grass @ the age of 12 lol. I am saying, is he really justifying his expenditures with MONEY from cutting grass when he was 12 lol. I cut grass too... but I'd never say "yeah well I also cut grass when I was 12" lol - wtf?!

Like I said, this is a disaster.

angdefeo 12-29-2009 02:08 PM

I never cut grass in my life. And when i think about it i never want to cut it.

CHAOS 12-29-2009 02:08 PM
