i like old school mustang styling... draglites look badass... they're light and they'll allow me to run a larger sidewall for more traction when i hit the NOOOOOOOSSSSS!

HickRocket1258 12-28-2009 05:12 PM

Thought you were planning on having it more set up for autox if anything. Draglites definately are not a road race wheel in my opinion.

Sidewall = 1/4 mile not street. It will handle like ****. Plus aren't you tring to autoX anyway?

i'm looking at putting nitrous in the car... that will knock me out of any competitive class w/ the SCCA and be completely useless. may as well hit the drag strip with it

Drag radials will work well on the street.

And yes Ken I agree mustangs with Welds look amazing. I want to do it when I get the gears in my mustang, because I will need to get drag radials. Might as well go with Welds.

anyone else wanna jump on on this driftfest in forza 3?

HaveBlue83 12-28-2009 05:25 PM

Meh, i think those wheels look kinda hillbilly on cars. Reminds me of a mid 90's camaro With the back end high in the air driven by a pony-tailed red neck. Lol

HickRocket1258 12-28-2009 05:29 PM

You mean Hillbilly like this....

welds loooook amazing.

i'm either go one of two ways for the style of this car... and as such one of two ways with performance. i'm either going with a trans am series style. wide front and back tires and a lower profile for less sidewall flex so that it'll tear up the track, with obvious suspension upgrades and eventually a supercharger or built motor and just use the nitrous for a little fun and occasional days at the drag strip

or, i'm going for a more drag strip appearance and obvious mods for that and maybe see about getting into some cheap form of casually competitive drag racing.

either way, the car will be formed around a motorsport that i will, time and money permitting, get more into

sweet, cause that is the exact look i'm going for.

HickRocket1258 12-28-2009 05:33 PM

That orange Cobra you posted a pic of, I almost bought them because they were a steal, just a lot of money to fork over really for a full set. You do save about 90 lbs in weight though with changing them all around. My mustang is only going to see 5k miles at most a year. Just the trips to the dragstrip and then cruising around once in awhile.
