well, my holiday weekend was interesting....

Remember the troubles with the GF from last week? well, the whole distance thing is going to be a whole lot worse. She told me shes moving back to the Dominican Republic. She was born and raised there, and came over here when she was 7. Shes going back to help her family with their business.

FML. Merry Christmas to me.

sleeperSL2 12-27-2009 05:15 PM

Sucks to hear. Are you going to try and work something out?

Scapegoat 12-27-2009 05:16 PM

move down there and help with the business

Big_Jim 12-27-2009 05:16 PM

as much as i want to, i cant. the "technology base" down there isnt as strong as it is up here, so i'd have to take up a new trade. She has family down there, i'd have nothing. I'd be leaving everything here behind.

sounds like a good deal to me, honestly. starting over 100% would be bad ass. If she's worth it, you do it. if not, you gotta consider the alternative now before it happens eventually

russiankid 12-27-2009 06:14 PM

Starting over 100% after you have lived a certain life is not easy and at times its not cool at all.

Oakes 12-27-2009 10:16 PM

Picture me screaming at the top of my ****ing lungs in an angry rage :furious:

Yep. Pretty much.

sleeperSL2 12-27-2009 10:19 PM

what seems to be the matter?

Oakes 12-27-2009 10:22 PM

One.

PennDot can go **** itself

Two.

Any driver that does not understand the concept of Pass Left, KEEP RIGHT can go **** themselves

Three.

PennDot can continue to **** itself

Four.

If PennDot hasn't ****ed itself yet, I will shove a 9 foot pole up their ass.

sleeperSL2 12-27-2009 10:22 PM

hahaha okay. soo, penndot should **** itself. got it.

Oakes 12-27-2009 10:23 PM

All that aside, I had a great weekend.

TROLL 12-27-2009 10:28 PM

oh nick, you drama llama... haha.

such a nice day to take the Supra out. and yes the rain washing the roads clean helped seal my decision to take it out. unfortunately got a late start and had to spend a lot of time getting the car out of storage so i didn't get to spend that much time AT the actual meet, but it was really cool and nice to drive the Supra for the first time in a while. about 30 Supras in attendance and probably 50+ people all in all (some in other types of cars)... pretty sweet for the middle of winter.
seems like the new 55w HID low beams might be putting too much strain on the electrical system, we've gotta see if the alternator is healthy because voltage was dropping a lot with low beams, head unit, and brake lights all on at once. it was MUCH worse when i also had my 35w HID fogs on as well.
anyway, good day.

and i understand the bond that people develop when putting so much time and effort into a car. you do seem to find reasons to bring up your car a whole lot and treat it like its on a pedestal, but i wont hate on that. it is to you, even if it isnt to everyone else.

Oakes 12-27-2009 10:29 PM

Hey Troll, no one wants to hear about your Supra....

...whambulance just got here, I gotta jump in.

sleeperSL2 12-27-2009 10:32 PM

troll, sounds like a nice day, any pictures? haha

sleeper15 12-27-2009 11:16 PM

didnt get to take my car out for pics. got done with my work out late, also doesn't help that my road still is covered in salt and brine.

Erik 12-28-2009 02:10 AM

Well, i failed at actually tightening my alt belt enough....shredded it again. drove fine, took a turn, squeal, smoke, battery light. fml. hahha i have the WORST luck.

DPancoast 12-28-2009 02:52 AM

Interesting Christmas this year...

The back story: brother finally moved out on his own(he will be 22 in April) and is the Manager of 5 Below. Even with the economy bad, he is still turning huge profits probally because people can't afford anything else. Smart move on his part to accept the job I must say. He is pulling $45K a year plus bonus. So he is doing alright for himself. I thought that he had his own car, but apparently my parents kept it and have it insured under their policy all this time. So he is getting dirt cheap insurance while I was dropping $100's a month at his age. On top of that, he slid into a curb last week and totaled it(95 Saturn with 250k miles) so no claim was made. He needed a car and didn't have enough money since he just bought another big screen and a high end Onkyo surround sound. So they bought him an 2001 Alero with 80k miles, leather, sunroof, the whole deal. Oh, and my dad is going down to fix his car for help also so he can sell it. I'm not complaining cause I did make out fialy well as they gave me a few hundred cash, a gift card to Giant for groceries, and some for resturants. But a car, comeon.... Apparently I'm an a-hole for saying let him be screwed because he just dropped $3000+ on a new TV and everything.
