haha this is quite true. thanks for the link buddy

Use wire to clean them out. Wire can bend easily, coat hanger cannot.

Kevin 04-14-2009 09:05 PM

If your worried about the tubes just take them out. It took me like 23 seconds.

yea, compressed air is really the only safe way to go about it. That or you can pull the panels off and remove the drain hose and clean it out.

97TurboDSM 04-14-2009 09:59 PM

thanks guys. the tear down will begin tomorrow.

97TurboDSM 04-15-2009 05:29 PM

well the water is definitely coming in from one of the 5 drains in the trunk, i just dont know which ones and/or how to get to the beginning of them to clear them out. i removed all of the windshield washer lines hopefully without removing any drain tubing so that my interior doesnt get flooded. also, im guessing my carpet was still wet from washing it before dying it so i ripped that back out to let it dry for a couple days. also had a bunch of loose lugs on both rear wheels so lucky they didnt come flying off on me today. rough day, im spent.

gtsiawd96 04-15-2009 06:14 PM

5 hoses? There are two drains in the rear trunk on on each side, and two sunroof drains one to the front wheel well and one to the rear well.

You have the fill hole/grommet and hose on the drivers side leading down to the Windshield washer bottle and has the cap to close it.. Did you leave that hose in?

97TurboDSM 04-15-2009 08:12 PM

no. washer bottle is out. im telling you, there are three hoses on the right side, and two on the left. thats all.

97TurboDSM 04-16-2009 12:41 AM

why was the last post deleted made by boriqua?

gtsiawd96 04-16-2009 06:11 PM

Hmm. Well here's a pic of my 95. I only have the two drains, one on the left and right. And the fill hole/grommet for the washer fluid on the drivers side. I also have a torn weatherstrip seal on the rear.

yea. im talking underneath all of that. take all the panels out and look how many drain tubes are down there depsite there only being two holes in the track right there.

Kevin 04-17-2009 01:49 AM

rip your interior out and pour water around the outside of the car

97TurboDSM 04-17-2009 01:12 PM

yea thats right. out doing some pulls today before going to the track tonight, 3rd gear pulls just roast the clutch. awesome.

PunkboySL2 04-17-2009 01:40 PM

nice, you have my favorite gen eclipse right there. Thinking about finding one of those in the future when i get rid of my other cars.

Kevin 04-18-2009 09:28 AM

They say that when you put a 16g in your car you def are going to need a new clutch lol

97TurboDSM 04-18-2009 11:10 AM

well there is an aftermarket clutch in there now, its just toast.

gtsiawd96 04-18-2009 11:27 AM

That sucks. Did you at least figure out the water leak?

And if your interested..... I have a 7 bolt FWD Fidenza flywheel you can have for 20 beans. It's used, lower mileage not exactly sure, been sitting for a while. No rust.

97TurboDSM 04-18-2009 11:33 AM

sure i'll take the flywheel for 20beans. nah, hasnt rained so i havent given a **** about the water yet, haha. maybe today since its nice out i'll have a look see
