I believe i'm going to the hamilton DD meet this week, not sure about thursday's meet (wherever it might be). Anyone notice the xmas tree lot in front of FW? I have a hard time believing that has nothing to do with the place not being available as a spot anymore. Also, wherever this week's meet is, needs to take in to account holiday shopping traffic. Maybe we should move it to troll's house as someone suggested?

Seriously though. I miss the FW meets. It was so nice and perfect. I guess when you really love something you have to put effort to make it work. I don't even have a car, but going to meets is very important to me. If it was up to me i'd go to at least 3 a week. If the meet time is about 7 till whenever, i'll just take it upon myself to look for places that close between 5 and 9 with a decent sized parking lot within reasonable distance. I'll post any findings.

Too bad we can't meet at philadelphia park... they have a huge parking area, and i'm pretty sure they close after dark. Maybe i should call & find out. I mean, they do have the state fair there? I'm sure a car club meet won't be out of the question, if they even care.. Hmm. I'll call tomorrow. Still looking.

Hunington valley shopping center, near the LA fitness that used to be the movie theater off of county line road. Huge parking areas. There is also some shopping center i can see on google earth between i-95, and new rodgers road, right where the 2 cross over 276 (tpk). There's also of course franklin mills mall.... Hmm.

With the new slots casino there, they are now open 24 hours.

halfhorsepower 12-20-2006 11:14 AM

I still can't believe casinos were approved in pa. That's the one thing i really liked about living here. One more reason to move away asap, sadly. I guess we could try meeting there, then.

They sold Christmas trees in the lot last year as well, when we were allowed to be there.

Yeah, we should seriously just make a list of possible spots, see which ones we like the best, then go down the list calling about having meets.

Itd be nice to even persuade whoever is in charge to let us have a "trial" meet or something. Then show them that we aren't some losers that are disrespectful and just gather and litter, do burnouts, have loud music, and cause trouble.

halfhorsepower 12-20-2006 01:50 PM

They are running one of those huge vibrating steam rollers behind my house. Looks like the 332 bridge will have 2 spans for 2 lanes, sweet! Yea, trial meets are a good idea, the trick is to get everyone on the same page.
