Say bye bye to your warranty haha

Scapegoat 12-21-2009 11:48 AM

single stage? i'm still new to the idea of nitrous and am going off of talking to a few people in the know and other limited research...

i'm going with three switches. a main switch to turn the system on or off. a window switch and a wot switch.

my uncle's buddy's dad works at ford in the shop department as a manager. i'm going to get in touch and see what he says.

and ultimately, the system is no more of a warranty killer than a supercharger. soooo why not

phate1229 12-21-2009 11:53 AM

I'm sooo ****ing sore, sledding last night was a horrible idea

I only know the basics of it as I had a simple 150 dry shot but I did have all the safety stuff too. I think there are kits out there that can spray different 'stages' IE maybe 50-75 for the launch then 150 once you hit 2nd. I think I even read up on progressive prays that slowing incease the shot so you don't break traction.

I would call these guys too. They know their stuff from what I've been told too. http://www.nitrousoutlet.com/

Nitrous affects a lot more of the motor than a supercharger will and is a LOT more risky when in use since the motor isn't consistently under nitrous "load" as it would be with a supercharger. It's honestly worlds different in an argument aspect and granted proper installation and tuning, you will still have issues with your warranty if it isn't voided all together. We've had plenty of Nitrous equipped stangs/Cobras/Shelbys come through when I worked for Ford and they were almost all cash customers if you catch my drift.

DPancoast 12-21-2009 11:54 AM

I dont catch your drift... sign it to me? :)

phate1229 12-21-2009 11:55 AM

besides a supercharger is more consistently fun, you gotta refill the nitrous bottle and worry about blowing it up every time you press the button

Scapegoat 12-21-2009 11:56 AM

granted, but... oh well :p

if i could do a gradual increase, that would be awesome. and this isn't something i'm gonna go around using every day, hence the master switch... which will be off most of the time

Nitrous is about 1/4 the price of a supercharger and it also helped keep me in line as I didn't have the power all the time.

i don't think you've got to worry about blowing anything up

the HO whipple kit puts out 550 hp, and puts down just under 500 at the wheels on stock everything.

a 125 shot w/ the appropriate safety measures, ie: window and WOT switches, is going to be safe. it should never be spraying close to redline b/c it'll shut off, and it'll shut off between shifts when i lift off the gas to change gears.

the motor can handle it... the design, while it has undergone improvements, has been around for what... 15 years now? its been tested and it'll hold down 400hp no problem. i understand the shock to the system instead of a gradual increase... but, the 550 ho whipple kit produces, i believe 400whp off the line

buffalo chicken wrap mmmm!!! can't wait!

Scapegoat 12-21-2009 01:16 PM

why... does it have to be... so hard... for designers... to follow... simple... directions

sleeperSL2 12-21-2009 01:18 PM

for what?

Scapegoat 12-21-2009 01:22 PM

slicing images...

i tell him... i need these images to be the exact same height and width, all of them. exact means exact. not a pixel or 2 off. it means exactly 0 pixels off. if one is 150px width, they all need to be. simple.

i also asked that he save them named as the number of the category id that they represent. which is unique for each one.

neither of the two above requests were done.

i had him make sprites the other day... they were awful. i had to redo them all

sleeper15 12-21-2009 01:22 PM
