So anyway I need some input here, I'm gonna put together a cold weather package to get myself and others out of the snow, so far I have
2 bags of ice/sand
shovel
flares
hand warmers
random high protein snacks
rope/chains

I know there's other stuff that's pretty essential I just can't think of anything at the moment.

Don't forget drinks.

2 bags of ice/sand? i think there'll be plenty of ice available roadside, you dont need to bring it along

yeah yeah, salt/sand and I'm thinking sand instead, put some more weight on the rear wheels and you can spread it out for some traction

lownslow95 12-19-2009 09:32 PM

I'm thinking on putting some snow in the back of my truck, to give it more traction if the roads aren't any better tomorrow.

i just had this random memory pop into my head...

soph year of college, i was in my almost stock wrx on stock wheels/tires and was with another buddy with a wrx wagon. it was dumping snow, being in colorado after all. we were driving on a main rd. near school and the drunken fools at one of the frats were camped out on the front lawn pelting cars with snowballs. they hit my buddy's car pretty bad so he pulled over to the side of the road and got out to tell them to go to hell. i pulled over also and had his back.

we both got back in our cars to leave, and he was able to pull out, but i was effing stuck since we had pulled off of the plowed part of the street onto the shoulder where it was deep snow. the same dudes we had just yelled at saw i was stuck and they came over and helped push me out. i was afraid the drunken fools were going to break my spoiler off or dent the crap out of my trunk, but nope, all good. they got me out and i said thanks and took off... they were just out to have fun, the clueless bastards.

we want drunken snoozie!

just got back from my buddies house. yeah, penndot hasn't even hit the roads up here yet. thank god my durango is a winter beast. though, i did find out something interesting. the awd system on my durango (r/t durango's were awd, can't go into 2wd mode) don't lock. i got bored at a stop light, and when the light turned green, i floored it, and all 4 tires started spinning at first, but then only the right front spun, the all 4 caught again. then the next light, i locked it in 4 low, and floored it, the durango just lurched foward. it was awesome

We have 9 inches of snow! I went drunken sledding yesterday. I ran over a rock or stump with the sled and think I scratched my taint.
