Why would you waste your money on a stock clutch if your going to race the car and probably mod it later?? Also 2nd gen t-cases are stonger on vr4's aluminum v.s cast iron. The only good thing about 93 vr4 is the 5sp, 4 bolt main package.
cast iron? i pulled a transfer case out of my friend 95 and it was aluminum. i thought the 93 25 spline was the strongest.

i needed the car to get back to school and was in a hurry - they had the stock clutch there already so it just needed to be installed. i got it done at my fiances work cheap, his boss hooked me up, like, for everything i payed shy of 1400

why would you put another stock clutch, especially a used one in there? should have put an exedy twin in for another couple hundred. now its gonna cost you how much again when you have to swap that used stocker out. :screwy: |
damn - yeah i did get the flywheel machined. yeah, it's gonna end up costing me a lot more now. the clutch was new though, not used.
You could try 2 steps? Sounds kinda cool too.
stock clutch and launch control do not like each other... Period.
the 08 cobalts come factory w/ launch control

screw launch control... im sure its nice to have but why let the car do the driving for you? i think that getting that perfect launch in yourself is rewarding
well, that makes me frustrated

I launch my AWD Talon on a 5500 2-step quite a bit. As others are saying, the trick to it is to slip it just until you start to move and then let it out quickly. Got a 1.69 60 foot last time I was at the track, and that was on some 6 year old tires.
4 wheel guys don't need launch control, ..... just gas it and dump the damn clutch..
rev to 5k and dump on the stock clutch. If you want a true launch you have to go aftermarket clutch
you can slip the clutch till it grabs then just let go with the stock clutch its not going to last that long
