Definitely check out Chris's D40, I can vouch that he takes good care of his ****.

You are more than welcome to meet up with me and try my D40 out, just shoot me an IM, I should be free this weekend.

next up, 5D MKI or 5D MKII? lol

My progression was similiar, 350D, 10D, 20D, 1D MKII & 5D MKI. The 350D and 5D were bought new due to the Canon rebates making the price the same as the used market prices. I prefer buying my bodies used, letting someone else eat the depreciation.

im gonna go with the mkI for now. i dont really have a need for 21mp or video in a dslr but both those options are pretty cool. down the road ill buy one used after someone else eats the depreciation like you said if i feel like having the extra options in the mkII
