Yeah hopefully it works out in your favor that it's repairable, The fender apron looks like it bit it and the main bulkhead is probly bent. I didn't realize how new the wagon was. That will probly be your saving grace!

I just know a friend who totaled his Acura TL on a pothole. Bent the LCA and moved the engine cradle. All depends on what kind of adjuster comes to take a look.

Good luck! Or you might just have to throw a "Fix my car!" meet at your house. The bill on alcohol may total out to more than blue book on your subi though lol.

Damn Liz, glad your ok. As looking at the pictures, and seeing that the airbags DID DEPLOY, the insurence compay will claim the car as a "total loss". Even though the car looks like it can be repaired, and the bags did go off, its not salvageable (sp???). I tried it with my Integra when I totaled it, and they were like the car is a total loss, and there was nothing I could do to rebuild it. If it wasn't, I would still have it, and thats the of that. You will most likely get full value for your car though, because it was clean as hell and nothing wrong with it. Good luck with everything, and glad to hear your ok.

Wow, really? How did it scene look?

I was having major panic attacks and dont really remember much of being in the car.

Yep.. It was like no cops then suddenly a bunch and then the fire engine came roaring in and blocked off the road. Thats about all I saw other than I think you or someone else went over and looked in your car for a second then when the fire engine came they walked away from it all to get out of the way. Was that you or were you in the car the whole time?

The car did not look that bad then but I really could not see the drivers side due to the angle. I figured it was bad if i was enough to set the bags off.
Had I known it was you I would have at least stopped just so you were not by yourself..

I was in the car the whole time. I remember a whole bunch of strangers asking if I was okay and stuff. I got taken out of the car on a board/stretcher.

sounds like you might have a slight concussion from everything.

Good to see you are ok Liz. I am still trying to figure out just exactly where that little hill is. I really don't want it to jump out in front of me when I go to pass it.

tretiak 08-06-2008 11:35 PM

i hate to say this but i think your car is totalled hence the airbag went off most insurance companies do not want to spend the money to get them replaced.but atleast your ok thats good to know.

SovXietday 08-06-2008 11:39 PM

Good heaven's Liz, I'm sorry to hear. Glad you are ok though! That's always much more important.

That's not entirely true. Insurance companies will total a car when the $$$ that it takes to repair the damage to the condition it was before the accident exceeds ~75% of the car's value. Even the newest Integra's are only work ~7K, and airbags are like 2K a pop plus SAS systems and labor charges it would easily go over the totalled line.

Liz's car is worth more money, so they may still decide to repair it.

glad you are ok.

Literally right across the street from shir ami, between the bypass and the newtown jr high driveway. It has a median there too.

Ok, it makes sense now. I couldn't place it from the picture.

frosti108 08-07-2008 07:17 AM

damn sorry about your subie. i know if i got rammed by a hillside and punched in the face with an airbag i would have a panic attack too lol

hope you heal up soon!

Chayse 08-07-2008 10:14 AM

Wow, sorry to hear about the accident. Glad you are OK though. Were you turning off of the bypass or going down Richboro rd. toward the bypass?

Kerplunk105 08-07-2008 10:34 AM

I was turning onto newtown/richboro road from the bypass.

The insurance guy is looking at my car today to see the extent of the damage

Erik 08-07-2008 11:03 AM

hope all goes well, i didnt get a chance to say that i hope your ok. Never wanna hear about a TST member injured. Let us know how the quotes are

den9 08-07-2008 11:17 AM

if the windshield is cracked from stress, does that mean the frame twisted?

Kerplunk105 08-07-2008 11:41 AM

Just spoke with the insurance guy. I am meeting him this afternoon to look at the car, (and most likely get all my stuff from it). According to the shop, the car is 99% going to be totaled.

Will it be weird if I hug my car goodbye?
