jp, i am prob going to need to grab some spacers at some point

so to make a long story short...my brand new wheels were damaged during mounting/balancing. guy finally agreed to get all 4 refinished by a mobile wheel shop. they mess up refinishing them and have to delay the process even more.

so basically me getting my tires mounted and balanced has taken about two whole weeks. They should finally be finished in about 1.5hr. I will try to get pics up tonight

what was the extent of the damage? was it to the face of the wheel? Pics?

Lesson 1 - always use touch-less wheel mount shop. A lot of places really struggle w/ mounting low profile tires too.

sounds like you needed to find a better shop period. lol

Even my boys shop has stretched some serious low pros.

the damage was on the face of the wheel, around the lug holes (presumably from the balancing mount getting slammed against the wheel)


yea, the sad thing was this place came reccomended to me by a local toyota dealer.

live and learn i guess...ill post up before/after shots of the repairs too to give people the idea of the kind of work that these mobile guys do

lol. all toyota dealers i've been to suck balls. which one? Conicelli in Conshy was the only remotely decent one i've been to.

not sure, my mom had asked when she got her car serviced.....


so it turns out they have to let them sit for the clearcoat to cure. ugh more waiting

Oh, and I have since fixed the foggy headlight! took it out, baked it, cleaned it and resealed!

That color is amazing, man. I didn't know if I liked it at first. But now on page 3 I love it. I'll be following along, hope to see pics with the wheels on it soon!

so the wheels had globs of dried clearcoat on them. i was told i wouldn't be given anything that "wasn't perfect".....it continues

Ok. So I resolved the issue for now and I am lookng to get the wheels redone.

What do you guys think as far as colors that would look good with my red?

idk man, not too crazy about those wheels in the first place. They aren't bad though. I would just leave em that stock color though. Its gonna show-off your rotors and calipers a lot more though. May want to think about color-matching them. would look badass.

Lexus offered those wheels in a hyper-black finish, and they looked really good with that.

That's my vote.
